"Thanks everyone." I say considering we're all gathered in my office now. Knowing I could have chosen to doge the punch, I do feel a little bad for self sabotaging and not doing so, as I seem to have cause a lot of trouble.
I leave Geto and Satoru sitting on the couch together as I walk back over to my desk. Everyone looks at me confused as I do so, causing me to give them a perplexed look back.
"What?" I ask as I reopen my laptop and sit in my desk chair.
"You should take the rest of the day off." Shoko tells me from the doorway.
"There's no need. I have other clients that I need to deal with too." I say.
"Why don't you hand some of them over to Satoru for the time being, just for tonight if that's what you need."Suguru suggests and I scoff in response.
"Like she'd ever do that." Satoru says.
"He's right. I'd never do that." I confirm and Geto rolls his eyes at my stubbornness. I look back at my laptop screen and begin to type away before looking back up at the three of them who seem to be lingering in my office. "Thanks guys, but you really don't have to stay." I say, hinting for them to leave.
"If you're sure." Shoko says as she leaves and Geto follows her.
"Tell me if there's anything you need." Suguru tells me as he leaves. I look over to Satoru who's now the only one left on the couch as he shoots daggers into me with his glare.
"What?" I ask him and he shrugs in response. He gets up and moves to the entrance of my office before standing in the doorway whilst looking back at me.
"Don't stay too late, okay?" He tells me and I nod in response.
"Satoru?" I call out as he leaves and he appears once again in the doorway, looking at me curiously. "Close the door please." I tell him and he does so.
I hurl my mind, body and soul into my work after that. I don't think about anything that's just happened, anything around me, or even myself. I have so much to do that there's simply no time to think about anything else.
I check the clock on my wall, only to see that it's 10 pm and sigh that I've managed to stay this late once again. I hear my office door open and look up to see Satoru enter.
"Why are you working in the dark?" He asks me, which only now alters me to the fact that I am working in pitch black other than the illumination from my screen.
"I didn't even realise." I say as he flicks the lights on, causing my eyes to burn as I rub my forehead. He walks over to my side of the desk and grabs my jaw gently, turning my head to one side. "What are you doing?" I ask him confused as he eventually lets my face out of his grip.
"I wanted to check if it had started bleeding again, you're all good." He tells me as he bends over to my level and looks down at my laptop. I stretch my arms behind my head as he does so, feeling relieved as eight hours of strain sitting in the same position leaves my body.
"Thanks." I tell him as I finish my stretching session. Satoru crouches down next to me and turns my laptop towards him, beginning to flick through my tabs. "This is not needed though." I tell him as I reach to grab the device back, but he slaps my hand away.
"God, Y/n you've got so much to do." He tells me as he shakes his head.
"I know." I tell him as I turn the laptop back towards me successfully this time.
"You're not going to like this..." He begins.
"Then don't suggest it." I say, putting my hand up to his face.
