I thought that I was Dreaming

The party begins to fizzle out as people start to leave, and eventually Satoru and I are left alone once again. Before I can even say a word to him, he's caught my wrist in his hand and is pulling me towards the garden.

"Hey!" I shout as he drags me behind him and through the kitchen patio doors, only to hear him laugh in response. I feel my bare feet make contact with the cool grass as he pulls me in front of him, wrapping his arms around my upper body and pulling me close to him. "Why are we outside..." I ask but he shushes me in response. Silence befalls the two of us, and I hear the calming melody of Frank Ocean's Ivy floating out from the house to where we're standing.

"Look." Satoru whispers as he trails his hand up to my chin, tilting it upwards to look at the sky. My eyes meet the vivid stars and I let out a sigh.

"It's so pretty." I respond in a hushed tone before shivering slightly. After all, the warmth from the alcohol I've drunk tonight can only counteract the cold December air to a limited extent.

"Are you cold?" Satoru asks me and I nod. "I guess I'll just have to hold you closer then." He says as he wraps his arms around me further, resting his head atop of mine as I turn into him.

"Do you remember when we were first out here together?" I whisper and he nods. "That was when you said we should be exclusive." I hear him chuckle in response. "Did you think it would all come to this?"

"Yes." He replies and I feel myself smile against his chest. "Always."

"I don't believe you..." I say playfully with a laugh, but he pulls back from me slightly, his gaze meeting mine.

"I'm serious." He says as his eyes scan my face and I press my head against his chest once again as his arms envelop me.

"Okay, I believe you now." I say quietly and he laughs, his chest shaking gently against me as he does so.

"Thank you for everything today." He continues. "I don't deserve all of this."

"Shut up. Stop saying that." I tell him as I hit his chest lightly in reprimand.

"It's true." He mutters under his breath and I look up to his face to see a distressed expression on his features. My brow furrows at this and I pull him closer to me.

"It's not. I know you better than anyone, and I'm telling you, you deserve everything." I tell him and he strokes his finger across my cheek. I'm sure he's only in this sentimental mood because of how drunk he is, but it still hurts me when he talks depreciatingly about himself.

"I love you." He tells me and I cock my head to the side with a smile.

"I love you too." I respond. Satoru then proceeds to let out a loud yawn as he leans his head back to stretch his neck.

"You tired?" I ask him and he gives me a half lidded nod in response. "Do you want to go to bed?" I ask him and he replies with an identical nod. I grin at his exhausted expression before standing on my tiptoes so I can whisper into his ear. "That's a shame, I was going to give you the best birthday sex of your life..." Say with a laugh before pulling away to see his expression.

I watch as his eyes widen slightly, a large contrast to their previously half shut state. A smirk spreads across his lips, apparently now bursting with energy as he grabs me and folds me over his shoulder which he's become so accustomed to doing now.

I let out a shout at the unexpected gesture as Satoru begins to sprint into the house at full speed, before returning up the stairs and to our room. I giggle as he tosses me onto the bed before clambering on top of me and kissing me heatedly, his hands roaming up and down my body ecstatically as he does so. I pull at the collar of his shirt and he steps off me momentarily to unbutton it, sitting on the side of the bed as he does so.
