Two coffees

Over the next couple of days I go into work as usual and come to visit Satoru in the evenings to pass on work and etc. He's fully recovered now and this Thursday is the day he re-enters the office. I wait outside my office door and look down the corridor at the elevator, tapping my foot impatiently as I do so. I check my watch, he should be here any minute.

As I do so, I hear the doors ping open. They slide apart to reveal Satoru who looks up from his phone to see me. I give him a wide smile and begin walking down the corridor to meet him, giving him a slow clap as I do so. When we reach each other I do a quick look around before giving him a hug. It's so early that no one is in the office, so I think I can afford to do this just once.

He reciprocates by wrapping his arms around me quickly, lifting me up from the ground as he does so and causing me to yelp in surprise. "Satoru!" I whisper shout to him as I hit his shoulder, but he spins me in a 360 before putting me back down.

When he finally does I pull away from him, smoothing out my skirt and fixing my hair as he looks down in satisfaction. "What if someone saw..." I mutter as I turn around to head back to my office.

"Hey, you're the one who hugged me..." He whispers in my ear and I shoot an annoyed glare over my shoulder at him. "You're so uptight at work." He says as he lingers in my doorway, leaning on the frame. I walk round my desk and seat myself in my chair.

"I'm professional." I tell him and he rolls his eyes. "Do you need anything?"

"I need a lot from you." He says low and I tense at his tone. "But it can wait." He follows up with quickly before leaving and shutting my office door behind him. The day continues and I power through my work that has been mounting up over the first half of the week as I had to help Satoru. Suguru enters my office around midday with two coffees in his hands.

I smile at him as he enters, and he places one of the drinks down on my desk.

"Ah, thank you, just what I needed." I tell him as I take a sip of the hot drink.

"No problem." He says as he walks round to my side of the desk, looking over my shoulder at my screen. "Busy day huh?" He asks as he takes a sip of his coffee.

"Playing catch-up isn't fun at all." I tell him and he laughs.

"If I had known Shoko was going to suggest you take on Satoru's work I would have told her not to." He says and I shake my head.

"No, it's fine honestly, it's my department so I was able to work efficiently." I tell him and he pats my shoulder.

"I don't know what we'd do without you." He says and I give him a smile. Geto always knows just what to say to make me feel appreciated. He looks away from me as I hear my office door open, by my gaze remains on him for a couple more seconds. I look over and see Satoru enter, giving him a smile as his gaze meets mine.

I look down to his hands, only to see that he's holding two coffees. Oh god. He looks down to the cups on my desk, then to Suguru, and then to Suguru's hand on my shoulder. I practically freeze on the spot as he walks towards us, placing the coffee down next to the one Suguru brought. That's right, Satoru always brings me coffee in the morning, it's only because he hasn't been in that Suguru brought me it the past few days instead.

"Thanks, it's good to stock up I guess." I tell him as I gesture to the two cups with a laugh.

"I've got to go now." Geto says as he removes his hand from my shoulder. "Don't forget, Shoko arranged a meeting for us at 2 pm." Geto says as he exits my office and I give Satoru a confused look.

"Did you know about that?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

"Suguru brought you coffee?" He asks, still fixated at the (obviously in his eyes) more important matter at hand.
