Namjoon sat alone on a chair at the rooftop of the boys' house, his crossed arms put over the railing with his chin resting on top, as he stared into the night sky and the city of Whalien in the horizon, millions of bright tiny colorful lights that were windows of the far off buildings shining in the distance.
Another week had passed by, with Jin gone again, leaving him in an abyss with nothing like the lit up city, full of loneliness. Ever since he'd thrown away those pills, the boys had become more careful, trying to keep his mind occupied with various activities and sudden trips, little knowing that Namjoon thought of Jin the whole time.
Tonight was the first time he'd been alone with his thoughts the whole week, and he wanted to be alone and out of the house. Though leaving the house wasn't an option, spending some time at the rooftop made up somewhat.
Even as Namjoon sat there watching the city and the lit up roads with colorful vehicles that looked like tiny ants miles away, he thought of Jin. The cold winter made him remember him even more, since the icy wind that blew in his face made him conscious of how Jin's embrace alone used to feel so warm and comforting in the freezing weather.
Now that was gone, and he was alone. All alone in this cruel winter.
Memories of them watching the stars from this very rooftop together, arranging dates and just talking with eyes and smiles full of love and faith, wouldn't stop rushing into Namjoon's mind no matter how hard he tried to stop them, and they forced tears to stream down his face once again.
Three years ago...
"Joonie, today's our seventh anniversary- when are you proposing me?" Jin asked with a pout as he looked up at Namjoon from his chest.
As the purple-haired male had said, today was their seventh year of being in a relationship. It'd been five years of struggle, pain and trauma, but now they were finally over everything and able to enjoy their beautifully bloomed relationship to the fullest.
Jin only had one thing in mind, though. And that was Namjoon asking him to get married. The younger wasn't in a rush, and that was what worried him. What if he never did ask?
Seven years had already gone by, and this time, they were celebrating their anniversary alone in the rooftop of their house, where Jin and the other boys have settled seven years ago too. Tonight, they were on their own, the boys having purposely left to join some friends at an arcade so that the couple could spend it doing something romantic and fulfilling.
The boys had spent the whole day making a makeshift bed in the rooftop for the couple with a few fluffy mattresses, scattering pillows and rose petals around, along with candle lights, and they even put up some poles around to hold up white curtains surrounding the bed so it wasn't completely out in the open.
Namjoon and Jin had spent the evening eating pizza that they'd ordered, fed each other and talked, enjoying each other's company and sharing long deep gazes, not being able to get enough of one another's ethereal beauty as they thought the other was.
Once they were full, they'd laid down on the bed, Namjoon stretched out on his back with one arm under his head, the other wrapped around Jin, who lay next to him, head on his shoulder and arms curled to the younger's side, sometimes drawing random patterns on Namjoon's chiseled chest as they both watched the breathtaking night sky, the millions of stars scattered across the black canvas in too many patterns to count. The moon was like a round lamp lighting up everything. The outlines of the dark clouds were like cracks on the canvas, so beautiful.
