Leaving on a jet plane

So as I was making my way to the airport by bus, I realized I had NO CLUE HOW TO GET TO BETHANY!  So I opened up my web browser on my phone, typed in "Bethany, Delware," and sought the closest airport. Delilah Airport, that was the closest one. And it's then a short bus ride to Bethany, which according to Google is a nice beach town. Huh, that explains why Paige has such a nice tan.

After that the bus arrived at the airport, and so I rushed to the front desk to buy a ticket to Delilah Airport.

"Going on a beach vacation, eh?" Said the front desk worker. "Well, I'm afraid this is the desk for United; flights to Delilah are handled by Spirit Airlines, which is that desk over there."

"Thanks, dude," I said as I went to the Spirit Airlines desk. "One ticket to Delilah Airport, please."

"Alright, we've got a flight leaving in one hour," said the desk guy. I paid the dude for the flight, checked my ticket, and went to the place where everyone sits their butts down and waits for the flight. What's that place called again?  I forgot.

As soon as I sat down, my phone rang. It was Dad.

"Hello?" I answered the phone.

"So, uh," he began. "Where are you?"

"Airport," I said. "I leave in an hour."

"Where are you going?" Dad asked.

"Bethany," I said. "That's in Delaware."

"Why?"

"Because Paige is there," I said. "She went back to her hometown because of me, and I can't let it end like this, Dad."

"Why?" He asked.

I took a deep breath. It was time to overshare. "I'm in love, Dad. I'm in love with her. And I know what I'm doing is stupid, but I can't help it, Dad. I don't wanna lose her, not like this. I don't want it to end the way it did with Mom; I...I need a goodbye, a REAL goodbye, at least! I don't want to spend the rest of my life regretting finding out too late I had a shot with the woman of my dreams, but I let it go because of my own stupidity! I wanna fight for this, Dad, I really do!"

He was quiet for a minute, and then he said. "Good luck, honey. If anything happens, give me a call; I'll help you out. And...I'm proud of you."

"For what?" I asked, tears in my eyes.

"Everything," he said. I could imagine he was smiling. "Oh, and good work fixing your little brother's computer."

"You know what? I wanna start a business doing that, Dad," I said, smiling. "I wanna start my own business."

"I'm glad to hear it, sweetheart," he said. "Sarah and I, we support you all the way. And if you need any help with that at all, I'm willing to lend you my expertise."

"Honey, be safe!" Sarah said through the phone. "Don't talk to strangers, don't drink alcohol, and do NOT accept rides from strangers!"

"Sarah, she's thirty four," Dad said. "She's old enough to know all that."

"Thanks, guys," I said. "I should go now."

I hung up and waited for my flight. As soon as my flight was announced, I got in line, showed the clerk dude my ticket, and went up to the plane. It was pretty cool, honestly, going up on a plane and all that. I thought I could sit anywhere I'd want, but it turned out my seat was preassigned; it turned out I was sitting at the back of the plane in a middle seat.

One flight later...

That flight sucked, I'd rather not get into it.

So I arrived at Delilah Airport all jet lagged and feeling like doggy doo doo. I checked the time; it was almost midnight. Now what do I do? I decided to call home.

"Dad?" I said, almost yawning. "I'm here."

"Good," Dad said. "Oh, and I told your friends about what you were doing; they have some words for you."

"Yo, Red!" That was Todd. "Good luck out there!"

"Yeah, girl!" That was Amy. "Good luck! Go get her!"

"Don't screw up, Dorkwinkle," that was Gabe. "Oh, and thanks for giving Sam my number; I owe you one."

"Daisy-chan!" That was Jolie. "Ganbate!"

That means good luck in Japanese.

"Everyone's rooting for you, honey," Dad said, chuckling. "Paige is the blonde, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"I knew it," he chuckled. "Good luck, kiddo."

Again, he hung up. I sighed; what do I do now? I checked the bus schedule for Bethany; there was a free shuttle that leaves the airport at 10 AM. I sighed; time to spend a night at the tiny airport.

The airport had a Subway, so I could buy a sandwich, a cookie, and a coke. After eating, I noticed some peeps had gone to a corner to sleep; I decided that was a good idea, and I did precisely that as well. I put my head on my backpack and just nodded off...

I woke up at around 9:00 AM. I got up, went to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth. There were other college kids doing exactly that, too; I chuckled. I felt like a backpacker, going to strange lands with nothing but the clothes on my back and my backpack.

I went to Subway and ate me an omelet with a coke. That's not healthy, drinking soda in the morning. Don't do it.

At 9:50 I was in line for the shuttle bus; I got on, eagerly waiting to arrive at Bethany. I sat at the back, just like I used to when I was a kid in school. In fact, I felt just like a little kid again!

Next to me sat a blonde man. He was tall, kinda skinny, and he had blue eyes. He had a dorky vibe to him; must have been his plaid pants. He looked at me and smiled.

"Morning!" He said. "Off for a beach vacation?"

"Not really," I said, shrugging. "I'm...it's complicated."

"Uhuh?" He said. "Well, Bethany's a great town with good people. I'm sure you'll love it."

That's when he opened up his suitcase and took out a Bible. Oh sht, I'm sitting next to a Christian...
