Chapter Twenty

Last night Brynn and Eva came to sleepover to celebrate my birthday. Due to the intense rain that came out of no where, we didn't want the boys to drive in it. We just had a girls night in and it was wonderful.

We spent the night playing board games, listening to music, and finished it off falling asleep to a movie.

The girls and I are getting ready and Grayson is on his way over so we can go to our towns street fair.

As per usual, when I don't greet him at the door he walks in without knocking. "Hello?" He calls out from the living room.

"Hey!" I call out from the open bathroom. I can hear his footsteps start to approach.

He smiles at me curling my hair.

"Hi!" I greet him. "Brynn and Eva are in my room."

"Grayson!" Brynn snaps.

He chuckles before he makes his way in. I hear them exchange greetings.

When I come back into my room he made himself at home on my bed. Eva is digging through her bag trying to come up with an outfit, and Brynn is sat at my vanity doing her makeup.

Since I have finished getting ready, I plop onto my bed next to Grayson. He opens his arm as an invitation to lay on his chest. I take the opportunity.

My stomach growls and we all make the comment that we're hungry. Eva has been dying to try out a casual restaurant in a shopping village about twenty minutes from my house. We manage to all agree to it.

When the girls are done getting ready the four of us head out. Eva drives Brynn and Grayson drives me. They arrive before us so we find them in the parking lot.

Walking through the village Brynn and I step back as we see that Eva and Grayson are getting along. Brynn already has a relationship with Grayson, and Eva tends to be quite reserved and hard to impress - so the fact that they're bonding makes Brynn and I happy.

We get to the restaurant and Grayson opens the door for us. While we wait in line to order he stands behind me and starts to give me a massage.

It's absolutely heavenly. He's strong and he applies his strength properly working out a few of my knots. I joke that he should become a masseuse.

Eva and Grayson fight over who gets to pay for my lunch as a birthday gift. Eva won.

Walking back to our cars we wonder into a few shops.

Once back at the cars, we configure the parking and driving situation with a backup parking location in mind.

Grayson ends up parking at the local CVS and Eva picks us up because she has a parking pass for her street. We arrive and climb out of her car.

We walk around for a couple hours before Eva needs to go to work. We walk her to her house and wait outside so she can change. Then we walk her to her job.

I am getting chilly so Grayson offers me one of his jackets in his car. We take the trip back to CVS and he gets me one of his jackets.

He locks his car, walks over to me and hands me his jacket. As I start to put it on, he pulls me to him by my belt loops and clips his key on one of the loops in a singular swift motion.

The three of us are getting hungry again so we make our way back to the fair. We walk into a restaurant that Brynn has never been to but Grayson and I can't stop raving about.

In line he lets me lean on him. My head falls onto his shoulder as we wait. We get up to where we order and the three of us decide to split a meal. Grayson refuses to let Brynn or I pay.

Once we finish our meal, we make our way back to the remainder of the fair. Brynn let's us know that Jaxon is about to leave work and come meet us.

We pass a vendor that is closing for the day and offer to help her. Brynn comments on the blow up toys and the vendor gives her a great deal. Brynn buys me a purple sea horse, Grayson a pink dolphin, and herself a purple octopus.

We walk further into the fair and note that Jaxon is still far away. Walking further into the fair we see multiple vendors shutting down for the day.

We decide to grab Jaxon some kabobs from a food truck. Brynn pays for their shared kabobs. I pay for Grayson and i's.

On our way back to Grayson's car, a kid comments on the dolphin he has. Without hesitation, Grayson gives him the dolphin.

I am in such awe when he turns back to face brynn and I.

"What?" He asks.

"You are such a good person."

He just shrugs my comment off.

Brynn waits with us in the back seat of Grayson's car for Jaxon to show up. When he finally does, Brynn gets out but Grayson and I stay in with the windows rolled down.

I glance and mentally note that Brynn and Jaxon are outside of the car leaning on Jaxon's fender facing Grayson's bumper due to the different directions the boys parked their cars.

When I return my gaze toGrayson, he is looking at me intently.

Before I can ask "what" he kisses me. He's never kissed me in public before, and I'm thrilled that he did.

Jaxon walks up to Grayson's window, "down for a cruise?"

Grayson looks at me for confirmation, "always." I reply.
