Just under two weeks ago I got that biker boy's number. Since then I've come to learn that his name is Callum, he's 21, he's an electrician in the Union, and he only lives 45 minutes from me.

Our conversations these past weeks have been enjoyable. Today we were able to find time to meet up so he can take me for a ride. We tried to find time all four of us could go out, but Eva and his friend Patrick made it difficult. Callum and I decided to stop waiting and go out ourselves.

I text the group chat with Eva, Brynn, and Maya informing them of our plans. They tell me to be safe and have fun. I am looking forward to debriefing them when I'm home. I just hope today goes well and we get along as well in person as we do over the phone.

We decided to meet up at a reserve / recreational center as it's 30 minutes from both of us. The drive up there for me is easy and beautiful. I park in the lot that overlooks the lake. It's mid June and everything about the weather today is perfect.

When he pulls up and takes off his helmet I suck in a breath. He's more handsome than I remember, and tall. Very tall. He's a tad bit too scrawny, but that's okay, his curly blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, immaculate jawline, flawless skin, and height (plus the fact that he rides a motorcycle) most definitely make up for it.

We make small talk before he gives me his helmet and helps me onto the back of his bike. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting to feel like up here, but I don't think this is it.

Throughout the ride he checks in on me every now and then. He also lets me pick some of the roads we cruise down. About fifteen minutes down the road we get to an area where we can turn around and head back.

As Callum helped me off the back of his bike, he asked me how I liked it. I leave out the part about it being borderline a workout because other than that it was super enjoyable. I couldn't stop smiling. It gave a whole new definition to freedom.

Callum and I go sit on the fence that separates the parking lot from the grass. I decide to break the comfortable silence by commenting on the lake's beauty to which he agrees.

Then, he makes the dreaded statement, "so tell me about yourself."

I suck at small talk, I never know what to say. I counter it by asking what he wants to know.

There were some awkward parts navigating the conversation, but I don't think it went bad. He told me about his family, and I told him about the less crazier aspects of mine. We talk about work, and lightly get into friends. It was nice.

He politely excuses himself as he's got prior commitments for later in the day. I get a hug and "next time you'll have to take me for a ride." Referring to my Infiniti, to which I happily agree to.

Hanging out with Callum was a nice change of pace today, I really enjoyed his company. Unfortunately my brain won't stop comparing him to Grayson, but I decide there's no harm in exploring a new friendship. With that being decided, I push the thought of Grayson into the back of my brain as I pull out of the parking lot to head home.
