I wake up and turn to face Grayson. He looks wide awake as he scrolls on his phone.
"Goodmorning," I greet him, wiping the sleep from my eyes.
"Come here." He pulls me to him so my head rests on his shoulder and my leg goes around his waist. His arm wraps around me and he places a kiss on the top of my head.
He props his phone up so I can see the instagram reels he's watching. "It's 9 o'clock?"
"Mmhm." He hums in response.
"How long have you been awake?" I look up at him.
"Since 7."
"Do you know if Brynn or Jaxon are up yet?"
"I think I heard Jaxon moving around in the kitchen."
"Okay." I kiss his cheek before I hop out of bed to freshen up.
When I come out of the bathroom, our door is open and Grayson is gone. Grayson and Jaxon's voices float through the open door. I make my way out to join them.
They're in the kitchen cooking. "Morning Kie-Lizard." Jaxon daps me up. His nickname for me never fails to make me laugh.
"Morning Jaxy." He ruffles my hair in response. I've always enjoyed our dynamic, he gives me big brother vibes and I'm very appreciative of it.
Grayson turns to us, "How do you want your eggs, sweetheart?"
"Sunny side up would be perfect, darling!" Jaxon chimes in with his hands over his heart.
"Oh yeah, and what do I get outta it?" Grayson counters wagging his eyebrows.
I roll my eyes with a smile, "get a room!" I nudge them both as I laugh.
They both chuckle and go back to their tasks at hand. "Over easy please, babe." I respond to Grayson's earlier question.
I make my way to wake up Brynn.
It took a lot of convincing to get her up, but she joins us as we are plating the food. We sit and have a fairly silent but enjoyable breakfast.
Brynn and I offered to clean up seeing as the boys cooked for us. They go to get ready for the day while we do.
When both rooms and bathrooms become available, Brynn and I disappear to make ourselves presentable for the public.
Shockingly, Brynn and I emerge from the bedrooms at the same time - normally she takes longer to get ready due to her hair texture.
The boys make space for us in the living room and we discuss today's options. It doesn't take long to decide that we'll go into the neighboring funky town with all of the cute shops.
We stop and grab ice cream to snack on while we shop. The boys are absolute troopers as we continue to drag them from one store to the next.
Jaxon continues to film a lot of our moments, but he does it in a respectful way. The camera is never taking away from a moment or being shoved in anyone's face, it's just subtly there.
In one particular store, we drop the boys off in the weed themed souvenir section. It keeps them occupied while Brynn and I continue to browse, and they even walk out with new items for their stash.
We continue further down the strip of stores, Brynn and I getting lost in conversation when it occurs to me that I don't remember the last time the boys chimed in. I stop Brynn and turn around. They're about three stores behind us.
"What are you guys doing?" I call out.
"Don't worry about it!" Jaxon replies.
"Keep going, we'll catch up!" Grayson adds.
Brynn voices both of our thoughts out loud, "I wonder what they're plotting."
Nearly thirty minutes later they called us to ask where we were. We met up outside a sandwich shop to grab a quick lunch. I mentally note that they don't have any more bags than what they left with.
As the day progresses, the sky gets darker. In the uber back home it starts to rain. The forecast says it won't let up till late tonight. This ruins our plans of going to a different beach.
Bummed out, we change into our pj's and get comfy in the living room. The sound of the rain is peaceful, and although it's a bummer we couldn't show them another beach today, we're making the most out of the moment.
The huge flat screen tv is the only light source we have on, and it illuminates the whole living room. Jaxon requests that Brynn gets up, he then sets up his camera. Jaxon pulls her to him, and they start to dance.
Before I know it, Grayson and I join in on the fun.
The once upbeat dance moves turn into slow dancing. Brynn and I smiled at one another over the boy's shoulders.
When they are facing each other, Grayson asks Jaxon "is now a good time?"
Brynn and I step away and I catch Jaxon nod yes. They instruct us to wait here and they disappear into the bedrooms leaving Brynn and I confused.
Brynn and I whisper about what we think they could possibly be scheming.
When they return, they return with one small gray bag each which supports a black, simple yet elegant logo. Jaxon presents Brynn with his mystery bag, and Grayson does the same for me.
Brynn and I cautiously open them, pulling out sleek black boxes.
Inside my box lies a silver chain with a centered piece of aqua blue seaglass. My eyes shoot up to meet Grayson's gaze, he just smiles.
I look at Brynn and she looks at me. With no words being exchanged, we simultaneously show each other our gifts. In her box lies an identical bracelet with the same centered piece of aqua sea glass - only hers is a gold chain.
Jaxon breaks the silence, "Those pieces were handpicked by us."
"So they're unique, like you." Grayson follows up.
I beeline for Grayson and wrap my arms around him so tight.
"Thank you." I whisper into his neck.
"You're welcome." He chuckles as he pulls me in for a kiss.
I request that he puts it on for me, I choose my left wrist. He does so happily. As I stand by his side while he holds me, I admire the dainty piece of jewelry. He kisses my temple and I've never been so in love.
