Leaving cliff jumping the other night, I remained confused on what I feel for Grayson. I'm scared that if I give him another chance, that it will be based on old memories and feelings, resulting me being blind to new developments (good or bad).

While I'm cleaning my room, Grayson's contact picture illuminates my screen.

"Hello?" I question as this has caught me by surprise.

"Hi, what are you doing?" His voice floats through the speakers of my phone. I can tell by the background noise that he's driving.

He ends up asking me if I'd like to meet him at the car wash. Seeing as I've got nothing better to do with my day, I agree.

I arrive first and snag the bay that has the best air dryer, as I shut my car off, I can hear Grayson's car approaching. Before I know it, he walks up to my door and opens it for me.

"Hi," I look up at him with a soft smile.

"Hey," he offers me his hand.

We exchange pleasantries and then he asks me if I'm washing my car too.

He offers to help me first, I grab my cleaning supplies from my trunk and throw him a microfiber towel. We get to work.

As I dry my car, he goes to his bay and starts to wash his car. I joined him shortly after. I poke fun at him for the order in which he washes the panels of his car. When he's done, we use his microfiber towels instead of the air to dry his car.

As we dry his car he asks what my plans are for the remainder of the day. Practically on cue, my phone chimes and I excuse myself. I am shocked to see Brynn's contact with a message that reads "lunch?"

I inform Grayson that I now have plans.

Once he's content with how dry his car is, he puts his items in his trunk, walks over to me and gives me a goodbye hug before we part ways for the remainder of the day.

Brynn and I meet at the local diner. We barely make it into our booth before we start talking each other's ears off.

She fills me in on how her and Jaxon are doing, I'm glad to hear they're going strong. I bring up how I've been feeling about her absence lately and how it makes me sad. She acknowledges that she needs to do better at being involved with people outside of Jaxon and his family members.

I know topics like that make her uncomfortable, but I appreciate her hearing me out. Nonetheless she switches topics by asking how Grayson and I are doing.

Although I texted the group chat about his confession, I get more in depth about it now that Brynn and I are in person. I gush about how touchy he was during cliff jumping the other night. I proceeded to tell her about today's outing with him.

I like that he reached out first. Although we didn't really talk I still enjoyed being in his presence. It's nice being so comfortable with him.

I am caught off guard when she confesses that a few weeks ago when Tristian and Jasper were over, that apparently Grayson confided in Tristian to some extent about how he might "make a move." I guess that referred to his confession the other day. I'm happy to know he put actions behind his words.

While we walk out to our cars, I convince her to come over and meet my dog, to my pleasant surprise she agrees.

Aston calms down after being in Brynn's presence for less than five minutes, and he walks over to me.

I sit on the ottoman petting Aston who's head rests on my lap, across from Brynn in the single chair.

"I can just picture Grayson sitting with you and Aston right now."

An involuntary smile graces my lips.

Brynn and I start to talk about our hopes for the near future. She and I are both happy that Grayson has made a return to my life. We start to gush about wanting to revive The Quad and what we could do for some group outings.

Time flies and all too soon Brynn excuses herself due to needing to go home and get ready for her date.

She bids goodbye to me and her God-Dog as she closes my front door.

Aston walks by my side as I pet his head and we make our way into my room. Seeing Brynn today was beyond refreshing and that conversation was very much needed. I relax into my bed now feeling content and mentally lighter.
