Daemon's Pov.
Walking into the city of Meereen with Ser Barristan, I keep my little dragons hidden, God's know what will happen if words get out there are two more in the world.
Walking up the steps while the people call the Queen of Nothing Mhysa, I have to stop my eyes from rolling.
"You may not like her, but she gave these people back their freedom." Ser Barristan says, and I scoff at him. "And still here I am being dragged along like her own prisoner for my name." I state as we continue to walk up the steps.
Reaching the Queen of Nothing, Ser Jorhan and Grey Worm is to stay to the back. Seeing her give a nod to Grey Worm, he orders the unsullied to put all the masters on crosses and my eyes slightly widen. Has she lost her mind? The children deserve justice, but only the guilty should pay for the crimes that were committed.
"Your Grace, may I have a word? The city is yours. All these people, they're your subjects now. Sometimes, it is better to answer injustice with mercy." Ser Barristan says, and her words made a frown appear on my face.
"I will answer injustice with justice."
.................................................
Walking over to the balcony, the Queen of nothing is on I stand beside her as I look down at the people in the crosses.
"You should take them down." I state as I put my hands on the railing. "They deserve to pay for their crimes, they put people in chains, put children on a cross just to send across a message, and you ask me to show them mercy?" She almost bites my way as she looks at the side of my face.
"Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, the gods toss the coin in the air, and the world holds its breath to see how it will land." I say as I feel her eyes burn wholes into the side of my face.
"You can't be great with a little bit of madness, but do not forget who you fight for. Not all you've crucified are guilty. Take them down and give them a fair trial. The guilty will pay for their crimes and let the innocent get a chance to change their lives." I say as Vhagar climbs on my shoulder.
"And if they are all guilty?" She asks as I still feel her eyes burning into the side of my face. "Than they will all die." I say as I keep looking down at the people.
"You know nothing of this world." She bites my way, and I quirk my brow as I turn my head in her direction.
"I don't? Just like you, I'm the last of my house that carries the name, just like you. I'm an orphan. Do you think I could just wander into a town? The first thing you asked when you saw my face was if I was a Targaryen. What do you think would have happened if word came out that there was another Targaryen even if I'm not one? What do you think would have happened if The Fat Stag or the Old Lion had found out I may have a claim to the Iron Throne because of my blood? Do not think you're the only one who had a hard life, Daenerys." I say with a shake of my head.
"You've never said my name before." She states, and that's all she got from that?! Stupid self-centered Queen of Nothing.
"Would you step away from your claim if you had one?" She asks, and I let a smirk make its way on my face. "Just the quistions makes me believe you think that I have one." I state, and I see that fire start to dance in her eyes again.
"I could have you killed before you can even make one move against me." She bites my way, and Vhagar releases a screech in her direction.
Grabbing her troath, I push her back against the railing while her breath hitches. "Do you know the words of my house? Queen of nothing." I whisper as I lean my head down next to her ear.
