I'm running into the forest, tripping and falling against the ground while trying to stay out of sight. Conah, my best friend, is beside me while holding my hand as we sprint through the woods. – Angelic guards still chase after us for no apparent reason, but they appear upset as they overly create and use runes against us. Conah kept me close while we endlessly ran within the darkness around us. He looks scared while looking for where to hide from those guards. His behavior made me worry; thus, I knew I had to do something to help. However, when I was about to act, Conah stopped, causing me to look at him, confused. We reached a dead end.
Conah was frantic; I honestly thought he would faint. There was when I knew it was my time to act and protect my only family. Inevitably, the angelic guards reached us; there were six, ready to attack instantly. Hence, without second-guessing myself, I activated my Angelic energy and used it to protect Conah. We battled against the angelic guards while hearing others coming to their aid. – I knew we couldn't keep running; we had to defeat them all.
I created runes to attack the other angels, and with my powers, I made the water move; the earth listened to my orders, and the fire from my hands protected me from others' attacks. Yet, I heard a cry, causing me to look at Conah. They got him. Immediately, I assisted him and tackled the angel, attempting to hurt him.
"Are you okay?" I helped Conah stand up.
"Yes, thank you!" Conah said before subtly smiling at me.
"Let's end this!" I encouraged Conah, who nodded right after hearing my cheers. Then, we stood back-to-back until we heard someone coming with a horse. Immediately, everyone stood still and opened space for the upcoming angel.
The leader.
An older angel appeared as everyone kneeled upon seeing him. Somehow, he looked familiar, but I couldn't deduce where I saw the angel before. Still, I perceived an odd aura from him; hence, I covered Conah.
"What do you want?!" I yelled, angered.
"You," the angel merely said. "You must leave," he proceeded.
"My friend won't leave! And you won't do anything to him!" Conah fearlessly said while standing before me. He activated his energy, ready to attack; however, the angel's leader scoffed and extended his arm, directing it toward Conah. In a second, he pulled him up and began torturing him.
"Stop! Stop it!" I desperately shouted before stomping on the ground, causing it to move and knock the leader off his horse. "Conah!" I ran to him, but before I could get him, the angel's leader sat on the ground and threw his sword at Conah. I gasped, my eyes widened, and my heart dropped. I yelled, cried, and kneeled before Conah, holding him between my arms before he fell.
"Auris City is not for you. The Angelic Real isn't your home either. Go to the City of Seasons and never return," the angel's leader bitterly spoke. I didn't dare to look; my attention was on Conah; however, my emotions were unbearable, and I couldn't control them.
Listlessly, I activated Conah's shard drew a spiral overlapping with an upside-down "w," and then placed my hand on the ground.
"Fire Vortex," I murmured, immediately making the wind go reckless, and the small tornado turned fiery and bigger. It attacked the angelic guards, burning them as soon as they got sucked into the vortex. The angel's leader stood up and jumped on his horse; he ran away with the remaining guards.
I looked at Conah between my arms while the forest was set on fire. The flames around me didn't bother me; I could only stare at Conah and cry while witnessing his state.
"You must be strong. Fight! Always fight! And try to find your origin. You aren't alone, my friend. You will never be alone in this world," Conah weakly said before giving me his shard.
"Conah. ¡No, no! Please, no! I can't do anything without you; I can't live if you aren't here!" I cried while caressing my friend's hair, but he only smiled and held his shard against my chest.
"The Angelic Realm is cruel and wicked, but I believe honest and honorable angels will find their way to you. Please, don't give up in this world yet. Do it for me," Conah coughed blood before slowly closing his eyes.
"No! Conah! Wake up, please. Please!" I shouted with all my lungs before Conah's hand dropped, and my tears did too. Instantly, the fire stopped, and raindrops began falling from the sky.
I yelled while looking at the sky, still holding Conah close.

I woke up and soon gasped for air. I breathed slowly and profoundly, trying to ease my fast-beating heart. Eventually, I looked around to confirm I was safe, and fortunately, I was inside my cabin. Alone. Like it should always be. – I sat on the edge of the bed after regaining stability, and immediately I grabbed the shard from the bedside table and activated the 'Dream Lock Rune' to help me ease the effects of the nightmare I had.
My anxiety leveled, and at last, I felt peace.
I took off and began another day. I opened the windows to let the fresh air in and watered the plant next to it. Shortly, I walked out of the bedroom and approached the cabin's entrance. I opened the door and stood out, profoundly breathing while stretching my arms and closing my eyes. – Gradually, I blinked and admired my surroundings, soon finding Flixes: fox-like creatures with a peculiar magic that causes them to change their abilities depending on the season. They remind me a lot of Conah. He was a handsome angel, one of a kind. His skin was pale, but Conah had beautiful green eyes, straight and light brown hair, and a remarkably peaceful gaze. He was like my older brother, someone I admired.
Suddenly, a Flix approached my side, causing me to crouch and look at it. "Let's go for a run!" I briefly jumped before sprinting into the woods. The Flix ran beside me and called its pack; I smiled while enjoying the air against my skin and seeing the beautiful scenery around me. Yet, this sensation doesn't last long when I remember the creatures that live within this realm; the angels. The worst part comes from The Council, the governed cities, and official angelic guards.
The angels aren't safe like they used to be, especially in Idea City. Since the phoenix angel gave its powers to The Council, the demons threatened The Angelic Realm, hoping to obtain the phoenix's pendant. Henceforth, I try to keep myself away from the main cities; thus, I stay inside the forest. I always did, even when Conah was here. However, he wasn't like me; Conah knew more about The Council than I did; he knew the angels in other levels that only I could dream of. Yet, we complimented each other and understood our needs and tastes.
After the first Newborn's sacrifice, The Angelic Realm changed. It transformed into chaos. The world everyone knew was gone. The protection in the city of Idea increased, while from time to time, angels continued getting called for interrogation. Before the Newborn's sacrifice, they disappeared like thin air alongside the governor's son. Since then, The Council guards the phoenix's pendant and vigorously seeks the lost angels, hoping the Newborn will appear before the demons do.
