We returned to the palace once the mission ended. The Vision team followed us closely to meet The Supreme Leader, eager to know more about her plans regarding The Newborn and their friend. – After talking with K and Niki, I discovered their team had another angel with odd abilities, Jay. At first, I was amazed but soon comprehended the Phoenix Angels' attraction to uncertainty and secrecy was by nature. In my experience, Jake came to me just like Jay sought Jungwon. It was fated—meant to be.
After the guards told us where The Supreme Leader waited for us, it was a short trail to follow. We entered the greenhouse on the right wing and met with our superior to discuss our discoveries and return the Phoenix's Pendant. She was beyond grateful after seeing the jewelry and assured The Vision team she would find their friends. Yet, the conversation didn't last long; it appeared she wanted to go somewhere quickly. Nevertheless, K and I looked at each other, knowing we couldn't allow The Supreme Leader to leave until we explained our theory.
Governor Aera held the pendant close after bowing goodbye to everyone; hence, I immediately followed her steps and called her name.
"Aera! There's something you must know before moving forward," I raised my voice, causing her to stop and look behind. She nodded and calmly approached me.
"What is it?"
"K and I discovered a connection you might not be aware of, Aera," I worriedly mentioned while K stood beside me.
"A connection?" Aera squinted.
"Yes! Luke Cross is behind The Phoenix Angel—Jungwon, specifically. Ryong Ethan also seeks him, while Governor Daehyun supports the demons' cause. So, what if all of them are working together?" K explained thoroughly.
"Not only that. Perhaps Daehyun is only a distraction while the others plan something more wicked," I suggested, conflicted.
"You gave me more to discuss with The Council. Thank you," Aera earnestly said before shaking her head—. "Cross, I should've known you were in this." She murmured, perhaps not wanting to raise attention—.
"Everyone remains in the palace; I don't want surprises." The Supreme Leader immediately turned and left afterward, leaving everyone inside the greenhouse confused. Yet, I held my composure and glanced at K.
"You must go to Jake. It's now or never," K worriedly said, to which I nodded in response. He was right; I had to disobey orders for Jake's sake.
"Do you think Luke Cross might hurt Jake?" I questioned, concerned.
