Boen City's soft appearance comes from the mountains' mist; it creates a heavenly look around the territory, and the Greek-inspired structures add to the overall ethereal and calm ambiance that the city claims to own. – The arrival was prosperous and well-thought-out by the Supreme Leader; my team was healthy and safe. However, I knew how distressed and confused they must be by the sudden changes. It wasn't my call to end in Boen City; thus, we were in the same boat. I didn't know what to expect either.
Aera's palace was everything I imagined: the high walls, endless gardens, colorful flowers, a stone bridge that led to the entrance, and a stable with horses. The style was yet again white and Greek-inspired. – The guards welcomed us and guided the team to the main foyer, where we remained until The Supreme Leader came. Everyone bowed at her and waited for further explanations; however, she preferred speaking with me before announcing the changes to the team. The Council's highest angel only disclosed her conclusion to ask our headmistress to send us to Boen City for our sake. She argued that multiple angels were working for her in our institute already. It was a waste to let us stay. Therefore, she thought it was better to keep us safe and let us assist her with other duties.
Eventually, the guards guided my team to the bedroom area, but Jake stayed behind. I frowned and read his thoughts; he didn't trust The Supreme Leader. And rightfully so. At this point, we can't put our faith in any angel.
"Jake wishes to stay," I returned my attention to The Supreme Leader as Jake stood beside me.
"I must know everything, too; Heeseung won't go alone," Jake firmly stated. Internally, I smiled and thanked him. I was grateful for his care.
The Supreme Leader grinned and nodded slowly—. "I understand your posture, Jake. Then, come with us to the study." She motioned us to follow her, to which we complied. While intertwining our index fingers, we approached another room within the palace. The Supreme Leader allowed us to enter before she did, and soon, she shut the doors and walked to the resting area in the middle of the study. Reluctantly, we sat on the spaces before the coffee table and waited for her to speak.
"I hope you understand my prompt decision to pull you out of your institute, Commander. It was a last-minute tactic," The Supreme Leader, Aera, spoke. The calmness in her voice was unsettling—in times of war, how could she be so relaxed? How could she make a last-minute move?
"And why did you make this drastic change? There must be a powerful reason," Jake suggested, looking earnest and eager.
"There is, indeed. Idea City got attacked by demons, and with the Newborn on the run, we can't stop them," Aera disclosed, finally showing some concern.
