The Angelic Realm. – Auris City: The Institute.

Traveling with portals had an advantage: getting to your destination within seconds. It was a luxury we used to our advantage. Once at the institute, we sought the headmistress, Yiyun; she allegedly had information regarding the demons' latest attack. When we found her, she was shocked to see me back without Heeseung's team but admitted that Aera's prompt move didn't surprise her. – Yiyun disclosed the events that ensued on short notice, emphasizing the arrival of the death eaters, vile, evil creatures that steal angels' flesh to gain strength and stamina. I shivered after listening to their description, but according to the headmistress, they were far from the institute. – I couldn't trust her anymore. I firmly believe she doesn't want the best for the institute and perhaps is working with Governor Daehyun. Thus, I played along and acted like I believed her, yet I thought the contrary was true: death eaters were in the city and approaching the institute.

As expected, the headmistress wanted to speak with Junghwa about other noteworthy matters that were classified and essential for The Supreme Leader's plans. I understood it was my cue to explore and do my part: look for The Hollow Wings team and create a bond of trust between us. Despite my wish to do well in this mission, I couldn't stop thinking about Heeseung and my team. It agonized me not knowing how they were or how they were fairing with Aera's task; after all, I knew they had a precarious move to make. Steal The Newborn's Pendant.

"Phoenix boy!" A deep, warm voice captured my attention. Immediately, I looked ahead and saw Adriel with his teammates, Ophiel and Munkir. I waved at him, subtly smiling and approaching his place—. "I thought you were gone."

"Well. The Supreme Leader thought it was best to keep me away from The New Order team." I tried to be convincing with my phrasing and tone; I didn't want Adriel to suspect me from the get-go.

"Wise move. At last, the angels' leader responds with common sense," Adriel mocked while his dogs replied with laughter.

"Did you refer to The Supreme Leader as 'the angels' leader?' Why?" I questioned, intrigued.

"Well. Aera is not my leader—I follow someone else," Adriel admitted before looking at his teammates—. "Isn't that right, boys?"

"Yes, indeed," Ophiel agreed.

"Our leader us better and wiser," Munkir assured me.

"Is your leader the reason behind the death eaters' infiltration into the city?" I boldly asked, hoping my braveness would win a point with Adriel.

He widened his eyes and smiled—. "Phoenix! You know too much. And yes, my boss knows about it," Adriel cynically answered before surrounding my shoulders with his arm—. "Between us, I must say, you would do great in our forces."
