Once we exited the mansion, we separated and searched for Heeseung. Desperately, I tried communicating through the Transmission Rune he drew on me. However, he didn't answer; he was silent whenever my thoughts attempted to reach him. And every second that passed, my heart accelerated, my breath quickened, and concerns invaded my head.
Come on, Heeseung!
"Heeseung!" I shouted his name while wandering through the woods.
Quickly, I ran to the bridge and looked ahead. I wished Heeseung hadn't walked past the river. It was still very hazardous to be alone in this forest. Yet, with that thought in mind, I didn't hesitate to consider crossing the bridge myself.
"Think, Jake. Think!" I worriedly spoke while looking around, but eventually, my eyes landed on the sky—. "Soar!" I thought of summoning Soar to find Heeseung faster.
I was about to return to the mansion, but when I turned around, I found Heeseung looking at me, confused—. "Jake?" My eyes widened after seeing him; I listlessly ran to hug him.
"Heavens! At last, you are here," I mumbled while hiding my face against Heeseung's neck—. "You scared the shit out of me!"
"Did I? I'm so sorry," Heeseung said in disbelief while holding me tightly—. "It's okay. I'm here now."
"Why did you leave?! We are in the most dangerous forest—you, jackass!" I hit Heeseung's chest while looking at him, upset. He didn't answer me and continued looking at me in awe. I huffed, annoyed, before embracing him again—. "Never do that again. Please."
"Jake. Please, breathe," Heeseung took my arm, pulled me away, and looked into my eyes. He connected with me and helped me ease my mind—. "Better?"
I looked at Heeseung's glowing eyes before nodding. Then, he caressed my hair and smiled subtly—. "I went out to receive a letter," he showed off the envelope.
"A letter?" I questioned before deactivating the connection.
"Yes. I believe The Supreme Leader sent it," Heeseung disclosed.
"Alright. Let's meet the team and talk about it," I said, still anxious.
"Jake, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Heeseung said before hugging me.
I hummed and nodded before taking Heeseung's hand—. "Here. Let's return before Sunghoon and Sunoo worry more."
