It's nighttime, and Heeseung called the team for an express gathering at the library. We quickly left the training aside and obeyed the instructions. But when we entered the room, we realized Heeseung had a concerned expression; he moved anxiously and walked in circles. Yet, when he realized everyone was going down the stairs, he stopped and placed his hands behind his back. I frowned at him but neglected my confusion regarding his behavior.
"You took your time," Heeseung merely said.
"Well. We were practicing until you called us," Sunghoon pointed out before sitting at the round table.
"Actually. We thought you would be there, but you never came," Sunoo mentioned.
"Yes. The headmistress called me; she wanted to finish our previous conversation," Heeseung explained before looking at me. Perhaps he referred to the talk I interrupted when I returned from the forest.
"Alright! Why did you call us? Is it about your talk with our boss?" Sunghoon asked.
"Yes. And I want this conversation to stay between us," Heeseung earnestly said before approaching the table. He sighed and continued talking. "I tried asking the headmistress about Jake's sudden arrival—the hunt and its meaning. Unfortunately, she dodged all my inquiries."
"She's hiding something," Sunoo suspected.
"That's right," Heeseung said.
"I thought you could trust in your team," I sarcastically pointed out. I shouldn't be enjoying this situation; however, I felt it like a win. I told Heeseung he couldn't trust anybody but didn't want to believe me. Perhaps, now, he will.
"The New Order team, Jake. I already had doubts about Auris' angelic system," Heeseung clarified, annoyed. I was astounded by his words but didn't react to his statement.
"What do you think our boss is hiding? Or, in this case, the system," Sunghoon curiously asked.
"Jake's meaning," Heeseung immediately answered.
"Excuse me?" I questioned, confused.
"Your arrival has more to it, and I thought about a theory. It makes sense after the previous events with the Phoenix Angel—The newborn," Heeseung revealed.
"The Newborn? What do they have to do with this?" Sunoo asked.
"Yes. The newborn disappeared, and nobody knows where they went," Sunghoon added.
"Yes, but the Newborn disappeared because the demons wanted them to assist their cause. Perhaps The Council sought Jake because they realized the recent demonic activity," Heeseung suggested.
