"Why are you acting so depressed?"

"Why are boys so rude?"

You look up to Haruko as you hear his voice. "And I'm not acting depressed."

"You are."

You roll your eyes, "Maybe I am depressed, but that's not why I'm acting that way as you're saying."

"Riles, you know you can tell your diaper buddy anything!" Haruko exclaims, sitting down next to you and swinging an arm around your shoulder. "I'm your best friend and you know that."

"Yes but that doesn't mean that I want to tell you about my problems all the time. Maybe I just want to keep it for myself."

Haruko frowns, "That's not good and you know that. Plus I'm your bestie!"

"You tell the volleyball guys the exact same thing, Haru," you say with an eye roll. He widens his eyes, "You know what... You might be right. But it's true I would do anything for you and you know it! Come on, what's going on Riley?"

You sigh and lean your head in your hands as you look into the distance. Many students are walking around the library and going to either their classes, or go to the cafetaria to have lunch with their friends. Some look stressed and others walk around with a big smile around their face. You never understood why someone would walk around school with such a big smile around their face, but it's whatever. To you school is never that fun.

You move your head to look at Haruko, who has a pout around his lips. You sigh and roll your eyes, again. "If you want to know it so bad, fine. My facts buddy doesn't want to talk to me anymore and now I'm slightly sad. Why? No idea, we weren't even that good friends, but somehow he brought me comfort and now I'm sad about it. Kinda pathetic."

"Tsk, why would he say that?"

You shrug, "He said he'd rather have me not contacting him because his life would be better without it," you say. You let out another sigh, "And that would make him happy he said."

Haruko scoffs, "What an asshole. Give me your phone, I'll tell him to gladly fuck off and show him what he's missing. That being an amazing friend who loves everyone dearly and for sure makes everyone laugh."

A soft chuckle escapes your lips, "You don't have to do that, I'm good. But thank you."

You wrap your arms around Haruko from the side and hug him tight, his black hair pressed against your cheek. "I love you, Haru. You're the bestest friend anyone could ask for."

He smiles and hugs you back. "Where are the nice words for, Riles?" he asks, leaning his head more against yours and closing his eyes in the hug.

"I don't know, I felt like saying it. Because you are a great friend."

"We heard that!"

Miya Atsumu plops down next to you, "How could you say that! We were there from the beginning too, you know?" he says with a big pout.

"You're overdoing it, Atsumu."

"Am not!"

You roll your eyes. Sometimes your friends act like little children.

"What's going on?" Suna asks. He sits down opposite of you and looks at you concerned.

Wait–

Suna is concerned? For you?

This might be your lucky day.

You smile slightly at him and let go of Haruko. "I just told Haru that my facts buddy doesn't want to talk to me anymore. The guy said that he would be happier when I'm not texting him and that made me sad."

Suna scoffs, "What an asshole."

"That's what I said too!"

The middle blocker looks at Haruko for a moment and nods. "It's true. He really is an asshole if it means he doesn't want to talk to Riles."

The brunette turns towards you again, focusing his fox like eyes on you. "Listen, Riles, you shouldn't be sad about a boy that doesn't appreciate you. You're amazing, alright? If he doesn't see that and doesn't want to be friends with you, then fuck him. Let him go. Be with the people that do appreciate and love you."

A huge smile appears around your lips, "Aw... Suna, I love you! You've never said such a thing like that to me!"

You jump up to run towards Suna and wrap your arms around the guy for a tight hug. He whines as you pull him close and hug him from the back, your arms wrapped around his neck and your head rested against his.

Haruko and Atsumu laugh, giving each other looks as they watch you hug Suna.

"Ok, enough. Let go of me, Riley!"

You pout and nod. "Sorry!" You let go of the boy, then walking back to your place so you can sit back down.

"You guys are amazing. Well, sometimes then. You know that right? Even though you guys piss me off half the time, I'm happy with all of you!"

"Awe, we love you too!" Atsumu says as he hugs you from the side, nuzzling his face against your shoulder.

"Hmpf, yeah, I guess we love you," Suna mumbles, but none of his friends heard him.

And maybe that's for the better.

You sigh as you sit down at your desk, your science books in front of you. The homework you have to do for science is looking at you and judging you for the fact that you haven't done it yet. It's late and it's due tomorrow, but yet you haven't started. Normally you'd finish it right after school so you have the evening and night off, but today was just a slightly different day.

You groan as you look at the periodic table that is in front of you, the numbers and letters almost dancing and laughing at you that you can't even finish the homework. They're mocking you, you feel like.

It's not fair.

Why are you feeling so sad about a boy you barely know?

He's just an asshole you prank texted, nothing special. He's just a normal teen from Miyagi that plays volleyball and doesn't need your company. He's just a nobody that you will never meet in person anyway, so why would you care? Why would you want to be friends with someone that doesn't even want to be around you?

And he probably has enough friends. He doesn't need more. Especially not when they live all the way in Hyōgo and send him stupid facts about cats, science, and more random things.

Who even cares about that? No one.

You groan once more and grab your worksheet.

Draw the element iron.

Boring.

You grab your phone and unlock it, your messages app opening immediately. You sigh as you hover over the name that you so desperately want to text.

But you won't do it. You're better than that.

You click on the Spotify app and grab your Airpods from beside you on your desk. You put them in your ears and click on your playlist with a mix of your favourite songs from 5 Seconds of Summer, Stray Kids, Chase Atlantic, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn, and One Direction songs.

You click on shuffle to play the playlist. We Made It from Louis Tomlinson starts playing immediately and you groan yet again.

Your life hates you right now.

Fuck life. 😔💔

You grab your pen and worksheet, looking at your textbook and then the questions that it comes with. Time to speedrun this and then go to bed and watch some anime if you have time.

Saiki Kusuo is waiting for you.

But you wish someone else was waiting for you instead.
