It has happened.

Inarizaki just lost.

With your eyes wide, you make your way towards your team, who all have tears in their eyes as they think back to the match. It is the first time that you have ever seen them lose a game, and it's devastating. It probably makes it worse that you know that you lost against Kageyama's team.

But boy, was he good. Sure, Inarizaki is good too, otherwise you wouldn't make it to nationals every year. Your school is a powerhouse school, a school that knows their volleyball well, a school with Japan's best high school setter in their team.

But it wasn't enough today.

The second set went smoothly for Inarizaki. They won that match easily, Karasuno not even hitting the twenty in that set. Maybe that switched something in them, that they could lose a set so easily... And maybe it made Inarizaki a bit cocky as well, to win a set so easily.

But when it was time for the tie breaker? Inarizaki lost the third set.

You sigh as you feel the sadness taking over your body. Seeing the team so sad makes you sad too. This means it's the end of nationals for you.

But why is this so sad?

You bite your lip, looking back at a few of the points that were made during the math.

This match was one of the most intense matches that you've ever seen in your life. And you've seen quite a few, being friends with the twins and Suna for a long time and all that. But this? This was different. This was way more intense than you've ever seen.

And you were almost there.

But almost isn't enough.

Karasuno is one hell of a team. Even the tiny ones were great. And that tall middle blocker? He knew what he was doing. The smirk that he had around his lips says it all.

And your buddy? He was the hottest of them all. You must admit that you looked at him quite a lot when he wasn't even doing anything and just concentrating on the match. He looked good.

You sigh and start to gather your things together, feeling the sadness taking over your body fully. It seems almost unfair that Inarizaki lost. It hurts you that it makes Kita so upset. He really wanted to play some more games with this team... But he can't.

"Oi, dumbass."

You're taken aback by the sound of his voice. You turn around and are met by his blue eyes boring into yours. He's holding out his hand, and you grab it. He shakes your hand and nods at you.

"Good game. Inarizaki is good, but so are we," he says, the last bit making him smile a little. "And we won in the end, like I told you we would. But I must admit, it was hard to win. I got really scared the second set."

The sadness from before vanishes a little as you see the smile around Kageyama's face.

"Yeah, it was a good game. I loved seeing it," you admit, moving your head a little to the side. "You're indeed a good setter, Kageyama-kun."

he chuckles, "I told you so. You should trust me on my words the next time."

You chuckle as well. "Maybe I will."

You and Kageyama are interrupted by Atsumu yelling over the court. Your turn your head towards him and see him pointing at the ginger haired kid from Karasuno.

"Shoyo-kun," he calls, a smirk plastered on his face. "I'm going to be the one setting to you one day."

You frown at your friend, "Is he for real?" you ask no one in particular.

Kageyama shrugs as answer, only now letting go of your hand. You didn't even notice. "He probably is. You know, he can have him. Hinata kinda sucks. I hope I never have to set to him again after high school."

You can't help it but let out a small laugh, bumping him on his arm, "That's rude to say, even if you don't really like him. He made quite a few points."

"Yeah, because of me. That's the only reason he's on the court."

You can tell he actually does mean that. You shake your head, then looking at your team. Atsumu and Osamu are arguing again, Kita is just standing next to it and not doing anything, and Suna has a bored look on his face. But that's just his usual look.

"I'll go and see what they're up to. I'll see you later, I guess?" you say, looking up to Kageyama with a questionable look.

The guy nods, "Yeah, of course. Will you watch the match tomorrow? Or are you going home?"

You think for a moment, and then you nod. "Sure, why not. It should be fun seeing you lose next time. We'll be staying in Tokyo until nationals are over, so I can see all matches until the final match."

He laughs and hits you on the arm lightly. "That's cool. Of course it would be nice for you to see us lose, but we won't. Bye, buddy."

You smile and start to walk away, waving at him. "Bye, Tobio-kun. See you tomorrow."
