𝗰𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 彡 𝐭.𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚 (𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗿.)

⤷ 17,, a well needed coffee

Well apparently the chance of walking into Kageyama was way bigger than you expected. Because over the span of a week, you've seen him every day.

Every. Damn. Day.

On monday it was at the cafe that you saw him the first time as well, but this time Yaku rescued you before anything could happen. Tuesday it was at the library because suddenly KaGeyAMa studies too now. The two of you walked into each other and you almost got kicked out because of the scream you let out.

On wednesday it was the cafe again, but this time you just left for class and he just entered with that girl again, so you ran the fuck out of there. Thursday it was also the cafe when you were sitting there and studying with Inuoka. Or more like you were both working on your own project. But he was there too and took his sweet time sitting with his new girlfriend at the table across from you so you could occasionally look at the two of them being close, it was disgusting.

And what a fucking asshole.

And then on friday it was in the gym. He got fucking accepted in the volleyball team. No surprises there, really, of course he would be accepted. But that means that you would end up seeing him far more often than you would like.

Turns out seeing Kageyama is something that will happen more times than you would have hoped.

Just your luck, huh?

"Girl, are you good?"

You look up when you hear Inuoka's voice.

The two of you planned to meet up to work on your individual projects again. You knew your friends would all be out playing volleyball because they have practice today, so you took this opportunity to study in peace, without Kageyama running into you again.

Because for some reason he likes doing that.

"Yeah, I'm great. Just great," you say as you jump up from the bench you were waiting on. "Isn't life just fun, Inuoka-kun? It's so peaceful and you definitely never see the people you don't want to see. Because life is definitely nice to you, huh?"

The guy frowns. "I have the feeling that you're lying."

"As my friend you're supposed to accept my response and just go on with life because I do not want to talk about it."

"Sure thing."

Inuoka pushes you away from the bench. "Let's drench ourselves with worries about all the university work we have to do, then, if you don't want to talk about whatever it is that's bothering you."

You sigh and start walking towards the cafe, your eyes on Inuoka. "Did you really have to say it like that, Sō? That doesn't make it better and makes me feel like shit even more."

"I'm just stating facts."

You two arrive at the cafe. Inuoka makes his way over to the booth that the two of you usually sit at now that it's still free, and you make your way over to the counter. There you're met by your favourite barista.

His eyes lit up when he sees you. "Hey, Riley-chan! What can I get for you today?"

"You don't even have to ask," you answer him with a laugh.

He chuckles softly. "That's true. It'll be ready in a bit, then."

You thank him and swipe your card over the machine, then walking towards the end of the counter to wait for Yaku to make your drink. You lean your head in your hands as you watch him. "You're working quite a lot, are you?"

"Yeah, I want to save up a lot. Honestly it's busy as hell, but I can manage I guess. I still haven't failed."

You smile and nod. "I wish I was that determined. I'm always tired so when I get some free time I like to sit and watch a show, or scroll on Tiktok or watch Youtube."

"That sounds fun too, but I can be found over here at the cafe instead. I have a few hours during the evening, but that's usually reserved for homework."

You pout. "That seems like so much work, though. I already think it's hard as it is like this with all these assignments and doing them during the day. I really need to chill out after dinner and watch something, preferably alone."

"Mhm, I get it, but if you want something then you need to work for it," Yaku says with a laugh. "So I guess I've got no choice but to work here and make money."

"Aren't you tired, then?"

He shrugs. "Sometimes, but I try to sleep as much as I can. If I want to take some free time, spend it with people for example, I can definitely do that. But I have to say, the following years it gets easier. They like to give the first years a lot of work to see if you can take it, and in your remaining years you've got a little less."

"That sounds better then," you answer, eyeing the coffee that Yaku has in his hands with a smile. You really needed your coffee to get through this study session.

Yaku places the coffee in front of you. "Enjoy, and good luck on your studying. See you later, Riley-chan."

He winks at you and you smile back, thanking him for the coffee. You make your way over to the table with Inuoka and plop down with your drink in your hands.

You get out your iPad and your Apple pencil and open Procreate Dreams. "Time to get to work," you say as you start on the animation you were working on for your individual project.

Inuoka chuckles and nods. He takes a sip from his water. "Riles, why don't you connect your Airpods to my laptop so we can listen to music together."

You nod and take your Airpods out, connecting them to his laptop so the two of you can lieten to his playlist full of throwback songs. Honestly, that playlist is such a vibe.

And moments like this is what gets you through university for real.
