Match time.
You're standing on the sidelines with Rin and Kaiya next to you. Unlike in your high school years, you're now standing next to the coach with the three of you. Standing on the other side of the court, are Kyoko, Yachi and Maki.
"I had no idea she was the manager," Rin whispers to you and Kaiya. "She always said she didn't want to be a manager. But now she is! Oh my days, and I've told her so many things about my job as a manager... What if she stole it?"
You chuckle. "We'll still win, no worries."
"I think we will too. The other team is no match for us!"
Seconds later, the crowd starts to go crazy when the players step onto the court. You see the Kyoto team first, with their dark blue jerseys. Daichi is rocking the 1 on his shirt, and Oikawa has the number two. You're not surprised that Daichi is the captain. He's an excellent captain and guides teams well.
And somehow, just like in their first year of high school, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and Hinata are wearing the same numbers. You chuckle at the irony. What are the odds?
Then, your team steps onto the court. Your out-jersey on full display with the terrible yellow jerseys with the blue of the UTokyo on the sides. It's hideous, but at least it's memorable.
Damn... Tokyo versus Kyoto. It's really starting.
Barely any sleep, no bus drivers in the morning and a quick train ride here, quick lunches and a little bit of practice... but you made it. And you're going to win this thing and show the Kyoto team why Tokyo is better.
Everyone bows and then it's ready to start.
For your team, Kuroo is the captain. He's also a middle blocker just like he was in high school. The other middle blockers are Tendou, Suna and Kaykay, but you have many all rounders. Kaykay can set too, which no one of the Kyoto team knows off, so that's one of your secret weapons.
The coach was right to have Kaykay as a middle blocker. Even though they're an excellent setter, they're doing absolutely amazing as a middle blocker and blocking so many people. It's insane how quick they adapted to their new position.
You also have three setters on the team. Atsumu is the main setter, but Kageyama is one too. He's an all rounder and occasionally the two switch it up to throw the other team off. Shirabu is the third one, but he's mostly on the side.
Your libero is Yaku, and the wing spikers are Osamu, Inuoka and Ginjima. And even though most of them are not playing because Kageyama, Kaykay, Kuroo and Suna are there, they're still a good addition to the team. Right now you're playing with this team, as it will probably throw most people off. Cause to them, there's no official wing spikers on the team, but no one knows that most of them will be switched occasionally.
Ginjima is the pinch server and occasionally switches too, but only when it's needed. Inuoka switches with Kaykay occasionally throughout the game, especially when Hinata is up front. He knows him and he can catch up to him, so that's how you're going to play.
You are so caught up in your thoughts that you only snap your head up when you hear the whistle blow.
The first set has started.
Tokyo wins the toss. They're serving, and Atsumu is up first.
Your eyes land on the black-haired guy standing at the front of the net, his eyes looking everywhere on the court. You know how his mind works. It's ridiculously good, cause what do you mean, he scans the whole court and knows exactly where he should throw the ball for the other players to hit the ball the best? That guy is way too talented it's almost scary.
