Sam had brilliant timing of texting me as I was sat in my bathtub, music blasting in the background. I almost didn't realise I received a notification, that's how loud the music played.

It wasn't often I had a bath, usually I'd opt for a shower instead as they're quicker and in most cases, more efficient. But, I decided I'd treat myself today as I was likely to have been both high and drunk whilst away this weekend- its festival season, after all.

The relaxing bath I planned was now over as excitement to see Sam was rising. I wonder what he had to tell me that was so urgent and that I had to physically go to his home.

In the end, I wore a casual outfit I'd wear to the airport as I know that travelling on a coach wasn't ideal. I wore a pair of black cycling shorts while I wore a Little Mix hoodie over the top from the Glory Days tour. Luckily, it still fit me after it being almost a year since that concert.

Sam greeted me with a big smile on his face, immediately pulling me into a hug. Wow. He smelt impeccable, he also looked it too, but when doesn't he?

I took a seat on his sofa, cuddling into myself as he stood, waiting to tell me the news.

"So? What's the big deal that you made me walk all the way here?" I sarcastically scoffed.

"Well, I had other plans but I forgot you were going to Reading, so I guess we are going to have to make do." he informed.

"Go on then, why am I here?" I recall, becoming increasingly impatient, but he stayed quiet as a smirk lay over his face, "Alright then, I guess I'll leave without a goodbye kiss." I stood myself up, knowing he'd give in.

"Sit back down, and I'll tell you." he said as he pushed me into the couch by my hips, "Ready?"

"Do I look ready?"

"Okay, me and the band are heading town to London, to start on an album." he beamed.

"An album? No way Sam, that's great!" I jump up happily, hugging him in my excitement.

"Aye, it feels unreal. But there's one downside."

"And that is?"

"You won't be there. And I'll be down there for a few weeks, I'd imagine. That's why I wanted you to come here, to ask if you wanted to come down with us." he remarked, looking somber.

"Oh, Sam. I really would've. I'm sorry." I said softly, placing a kiss on his cheek.

"No, its fine. But seeing as though your here, and you have time to spare, and I don't have to be at the station until 5, you want to stay here and watch a film? Y'kna, make the most of eachother while we can." he said cheekily, holding me by the waist.

"When we're both back, you fancy meeting the other lads?" Sam asked as we stood at his front door.

"Of course I would." I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck, "I'll miss you, Sammy."

He looked at me, pushing a stray hair behind my ear, "I'll miss you more." he whispered before fiercely kissing my lips, making my stomach tingle.

It was a kiss I didn't ever want to pull away from, but I had places to be, with Fran. Breathless, we said our last goodbyes before I walked off to make my way to Fran's house.

Evelyn: On my way, see u soon x

Fran: There's a Martini here, with your name on x

Evelyn: Great way to kickstart the weekend x

It wasn't an unknown fact that I drank like mad when I went to festivals, so much so, that I ended up in the back of an ambulance when I was 17. That was my first festival mam let me drink, and I'd truly had the festival experience. Whatever alcohol that was offered to me, I took. Looking back, it wasn't the safest of options but I was 17 and desperate.

Fran and I had attended festivals since we were 14, sneaking in with our dads. Since then, the two of us fell in love with the scene. It wasn't Rylee's type of thing, so she decided to stay home instead.

"Only one, or I'll be sick on the coach." I gagged, knocking back the Vodka Fran had gave me.

"Good point. If I sleep on the bus, don't do anything to me." Fran begged.

"When have I ever done owt to yee?"

"Don't you recall our first lasses holiday?"

I just laughed, remembering the holiday we went on to Rome after we'd finished our A-Levels. She got drunk in the airport and fell asleep on the chairs, so I tied her shoe laces to the chair she sat on. Then, I redid her hair, back combing it and all sorts. I used her as one of those heads kids would use to put pretend makeup and hair on.

We got there later than I'd expected, all of the Friday acts being finished as we arrived. So that meant building our tent in the dark and slightly tipsy. I knew it'd be a struggle so I set my phone up to reminisce on on the way back to Newcastle.

It couldn't have taken us any longer than 15 minutes to do. Although unstable, Fran and I were shattered from a day of travel so we set up the tent and went to bed, ready for the weekend ahead of us.

Who knew a midwife and an administrator could drink and shout and sing as much as we did?
