A rapid and loud knock at the door jolted me awake as my hand raised onto the left side if my chest. There was a stinging at the back of my eyes and a stuffy feeling in my nose as I began to gain consciousness. As I stood from my sleeping position, I made sure to avoid all of the bottles and approach the front door, clocking my dreadful appearance in the mirror next to the door. In attempt to disguise my look, I scraped my hair into a bun and licked my finger to wipe off the mascara that was spread around my eyes. As for the busted lip, that'd have to stay prominent.

Last night was the most drunk I'd gotten in a while, accompanied by my old work colleagues. One turned into two and two turned into a whole six hours of drinking then that led to inviting them round mine. Hence the looking and feeling rough.

My hand met the door handle and I was face to face with my brother.

"Christ," he spluttered as his eyes shot open in shock, "I hope you feel as bad as you look."

"Cheeky sod." I smiled inviting him in.

"You smell like a bar you, kid." he gagged as he pulled away from a hug.

I guided my brother into the house, cursing at myself when I clocked the many glasses aligned on the end table. Bailey studied the room, an eyebrow being lifted at me.

"You've not relapsed, have you?" he questioned.

My heart sunk, "What? No! Of course not. Why would you think that?"

Dumb question, I know.

"Are you actually asking me that?" he snorted, gesturing to the room around him.

"Nah, just had some friends round last night is all." I explained, "What you doing here like?"

"I was wondering whether you'd take care of the babies for today and tomorrow." he began, "I'm taking Yvonne to a cottage for a little break while I know she's doing a bit better and mam's got them most of the time."

"Of course I'll look after them. Are they here now?" I asked eagerly, willing to see my niece and nephew again after what feels like a long, long while.

"Aye. They're with Yvonne in the car." he smiled, "But I wanted some time with you for a little while, I feel like I've not seen you in ages."

After settling the babies down, it was time for me to go and pick Sam up from heaven knows where. I'd had the twins for a couple of hours and their crying wasn't helping my hangover, but I love them too much to be angry at them.

Quickly, I got myself ready for the day, keeping close watch on the two, and scurried off to pick Sam up.

We'd been texting non-stop his whole journey home, but he couldn't decide where he wanted picking up from.  In the end, he wanted to stop off at his mam's after a hectic few weeks and relax with her. It was a wise idea for him to relax then because I had a sneaky feeling that the kids weren't exactly going to let us chill while they were here. However, I do seem to have the magic touch- but only when I most need it.

Grabbing the car seats out of the back, I quietly willed for Sam and I to have two really young kids at once. It genuinely felt like I was juggling everything and it was even worse that they weren't my own children. There were two little bodies that I was responsible for for the next few days.

I knocked on the door before Shirley called for me to just come in. Cautiously, I placed one bairn on the ground and opened the door with that free hand.

When I walked in, I must've looked like a complete fool with a backpack half on one shoulder, my car keys hanging from my mouth, my left arm linking onto Zara's chair and my right hand holding Zander's, while my left hand held my water and index finger clinging onto my phone with all of it strength. I assumed I had taken on the tired Auntie look already as Shirley immediately took the babies from my arms. The hangover obviously wasn't helping my appearance either.

"Fucking hell, what happened to your lip?" Sam called upon sight of me, curling an arm around my waist and kissing my lips, which did make me wince a little.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I might've gotten into a fight, I've not got much memory of last night."

He just laughed and kissed me again before leading me to the living room, where the two had resided prior to my grand entrance. There was already a steaming mug at my normal place of residence at Shirley's that I picked up and immediately sat down with. As I sat, the feeling was almost as good as taking your bra off after a long day.

"Long night, love?" Shirley chuckled.

"I don't think long's the word, Shirley." I laughed back, "None of the other lasses have woken up yet, so I'm waiting to see if I was the only one who went overboard." I explained before taking a long sip of the steaming liquid.

"And how long have you got the kids for?" she questioned, looking admiringly at the two in their seats, one babbling on while the other slept.

I closed my eyes to remember what on earth Bailey said, before it all came to me, "Today, tomorrow, then they're picking them up in the morning."

Sam's eyes widened at the news, and I immediately knew what he was thinking about doing. But no, not when babies are in our care. Plus, we'd have zero time anyways considering how active I'd been for the past few hours with them, let alone a whole night.

The three of us chatted, well, mainly Sam did as he shared his experiences with us about his time on the show. It made me fall in love with him all over again whenever he spoke about things he loved and the way he could go on about it for days. An extra bonus was how much of a good gossiper he was, alongside his sense of humour. But no matter how much we spoke and watched the telly and fawned over the babies, we did have to leave at some point for Sam to rest and me to do some professional baby sitting.

With more ease than arriving at the home, we left as Sam was my extra pair of hands, meaning we got one child each. We made sure they were back to sleep before driving again so that Sam and I could have us-time for the first time in what felt like forever.

Yvonne: Thanks for agreeing to take care of the kids, if u need anything, just let me know. Their bed time is at 19:00 latest. Also, don't let them nap too much or you'll have zero sleep xxx

Evie: Nb, up for babysitting my godbabies whenever. Enjoy your break xxx

"I think we need to keep them awake for the foreseeable, Sam." I suggested as we walked through the front door of our flat, which was now clean after my brother offered to help throw cans and bottles away while I washed dishes.

Locking the door behind him, Sam replied, "What makes you think that?"

"They won't sleep tonight if they sleep anymore." I declared before hugging my boyfriend tightly, "I've missed you."

"I missed you too." he smiled, looking down at me and kissing my lips in a long and sweet kiss, "Howay then, we'd best play with them for a while."
