Letting my inner child get the better of me, I woke up at an ungodly hour in the morning with a major urge to start my day. However, it was super comfy being wrapped in the broad arms of my boyfriend, so there was no way I was going to wake him up. Yet. I subtly shifted my position, turning to face him, my arms slithering around the waist that I could manage to find in the dark. I was so excited that I squeezed him a little to harshly into my body, causing him to wake up.

"Evie, you good?" he asked, concern in his voice.

"More than good." I beamed, nuzzling my head into his chest.

"I'm not waking up before eight, so wake me up in around two hours." he groaned.

"You're no fun." I huffed while staying in the cocoon I'd made for myself.

His eyes closed again and his arms draped over my body. I could hear his steady heartbeat in my ear, relaxing me a little as I knew he was also relaxed. Then a smile appeared on his face and his eyes pierced down into mine.

"Who am I kidding? I'm awake now and its Christmas." he chuckled.

From my view, there was a shadow that emphasised all of his features like his defined cheekbones, chiselled jawline, long eyelashes, dry lips and it caused for butterflies to set themselves free around my body. If I could, I'd lay here and stare at him like this forever, but I couldn't- that'd be really fucking weird.

He sat up and I sniggered at his bed head, alerting him to spin his head to face me, "What you laughing at?"

"Nowt." I said, breathless from my laughter.

"Nar, you're amused by something. So share." he demanded, laying himself back down after stretching.

"I'm not." I claimed.

"Sure." he muttered, wriggling back under the covers so his head now rested on my chest and arms located themselves around my waist. Meanwhile, I played with his locks, attempting to make them look a little less messy, "Keep doing that. Feels nice."

I obeyed. After this, I didn't need a Christmas present, his presence was all I needed and more.

"What time's it?" I asked after a lifetime of comforting silence.

"Dunna." Sam muttered in response, laying sweet kisses onto my chest.

"Enough of that." I giggled, lifting his head to look at me with my index finger, "You look super handsome right now."

"You're being sarcastic, aren't you." he rolled his eyes at my antics.

"Never. You're always handsome." I complimented, placing a kiss on his lips before slipping out of bed.

The clock on my phone read 6:23. I flicked on the lamp next to me and scurried around to Sam's side of the bed, pulling him up. As he stood, I took note of the goosebumps that rose on his arms and handed him his dressing gown. I draped mine over my shoulders and opened the curtains to reveal the street being lit up by a few street lights. There was the occasional house and apartment that had their lights switched on already, which was understandable as they had kids.

In the past months I've been with Sam, I've determined that the two of us are just two big kids. Especially seeing his reactions of today as a beam was tattooed on his face from ear to ear.

I stood admiring the view from the window for a while, Sam behind me with his arms over my shoulders. We soon warmed each other up and headed into my kitchen to make a cup of tea, not before we took a little Christmas picture to document our first Christmas morning together.

One thing I've always prided about myself is my secret talent of gift giving. I always get excited when I go out present shopping as I like to give the best presents to the people I love most. This year, it wasn't any different.

Sam and I had located ourselves on the rug in front of the telly while Christmas albums played on my record player in the background. Beside me, I had the small stack of presents I got for Sam, he had the presents he got for me next to him. Nothing could get in the way of the smile I held on my face as I shoved the first of Sam's four presents in his face.

"This one isn't the greatest, I can't lie." I commented as he began to rip the ribbon from the wrapping paper.

He pulled out the box from the wrapping paper and gave me an expression of disappointment. Meanwhile, I just chuckled at my own antics.

In the box was a small note that I had folded up, stating that I'd buy him a ticket to a Newcastle match of his choice within the next season. I didn't get him a ticket yet as I knew it'd be a busy year with his album coming out.

"Not great my arse, Jonston. I love it thanks." he smiled, pecking my lips before opening the next present.

Once again, he opened one of the last minute presents before the other two, showing off all of his new guitar accessories to me. To be honest, I knew fuck all about guitars but with the help from the man in the shop, he recommended me buying him a pick, pick holder, strap, tuner and new strings. So, that's what I'd gotten him.

"I needed new strings." he gasped as he searched through his stuff, I just nodded as though I understood what he was saying.

The next present I'd gotten for him when we first started seeing each other. One of the first things I learnt about him was his love of music, more specifically: Bruce Springsteen. So, I was quick to buy whatever novelty shirts I could find, along with some others with bands I knew he enjoyed. Not much, but I liked to steal his shirts, so what's the harm in buying more?

Then came the grand finale. I can't lie, I was super nervous about this next present as I'd been trying so hard to keep it a secret. Chewing on my lip, I picked my phone up to video his reaction to what was hiding in the box of shredded tissue paper.

Rustling through the heaps of material, he pulled out the key, "We got the apartment?" he questioned gleefully.

"We got the apartment." I said, smile spreading across my face as he pulled me into a massive hug.

"I actually fucking love you. Thanks for the presents, I love them all." he cheered into my chest, "I divnt think I'll top all of them like."

"I don't need anything, that house and you are all I want." I claimed before lifting the lid from the box Sam handed to me.

My eyes watered as I looked inside the box. It was full with my favourite sweets and chocolate with a photo frame of my favourite picture of us in the middle, "This is lovely." I commented before moving onto the bag adjacent to the box.

I stuck my hand in the bag, feeling a few velvet boxes but pulling out one. It was the smallest of the three and inside sat a silver ring with a blue gem inside- my birthstone. I then opened up the next box, revealing a Pandora charm bracelet with one charm already on.

Sam stopped me before I opened the next box, "If you don't want it, I can take it back and you can have the money or a different one." he gulped.

To be honest, I was quite apprehensive when opening it up. Inside, there was a necklace with a pendant on there, engraved in it was our initials.

"I love it." I choked, pulling him in for another hug.
