--- Present day ---

I kept my hood up as I walked through the markets. It was noisy, with people shouting for attention to their stalls. America was definitely a lot busier than Sokovia. I'd heard about what had happened to Sokovia in 2015, when the city rose into the air and was destroyed. I hoped with all my heart that there were no Hybrids there at the time. I glanced down at my phone as it vibrated. Someone was calling me. I slipped my earpiece in and picked up.

"Hey y/n!" a familiar voice greeted.

"Kat!"

"I haven't talked to you in ages!"

"You do have my number," I replied with a laugh.

"Yeah, well, I was busy," Kat laughed. "I've found a young Hybrid."

I felt my heartbeat quicken. A young Hybrid? We were supposed to be extinct.

"H-how young?"

"Six."

I stopped still upon hearing this.

"Move dammit!" a man behind me yelled.

I briefly glared at him, before running towards a quiet corner. I tucked myself in, taking a sip of the drink.

"Y/n? Y/n are you okay?" Kat asked through the earpiece.

"We're only sixteen," I replied weakly.

Yes. Sixteen. The whole HYDRA escape thing happened when we were only twelve. I began to nervously sheathe and un-sheathe my claws.

"I know. I don't know who his parents are. He says he can't remember, and I found him in a burning building during a fire," Kat told me.

"What's his name?" I asked.

"Benedict, or Ben for short," Kat replied.

I nodded slowly, then dropped my energy drink in shock as I saw a pink glow in someone's pocket.

"Kat, I need to go," I said suddenly.

"Alright, I'll call you sometime later," Kat replied. "Bye!"

I ended the call and took my earpiece out, before following the man who had the pink glow in his pocket. He moved swiftly through the crowds, but I slipped through them behind him. He disappeared into an alley, and I followed. You're probably wondering what the pink glowy thing is, and why I want it.

After I left HYDRA, I found out that there were a few super-agents hidden around the globe, one in the US. They were retrieving a stone that could be used to create a dangerous weapon. The stone contained the powers that us Hybrids had. If it got into the wrong hands, HYDRA would create a Hybrid - one much more dangerous than us. Those of us who got trapped in HYDRA were just test subjects. The goal was to get us to kill the Avengers and anyone who could challenge HYDRA, so they could create a Hybrid creature that possessed unmatched abilities. I'd spent years trying to locate the rock. I'd narrowed it's location to the markets. And I'd found it.

I transformed into my wolf formed and sneaked behind the HYDRA agent. I waited until nobody was around and the agent wasn't alert, then leapt at him, pushing him to the ground.

"CODE RED!" he yelled.

Shit. He was using an earpiece. I dived towards his neck, but my muzzle was suddenly stuck shut by some sort of web. Distracted, the agent got to his feet and began to run. I transformed into my human self again and tore the web off my face, before running after the agent again. He ran into a secluded alley which was a dead end. Turning to me, he saw me. The agent let an evil smile spread over his face.

"Ah y/n, good to see you," he drawled. "Looks like you fell into my rabbit hole."

I laughed harshly, forgetting about the thing that shot a web at me as anger overcame me.

"Still as bloodthirsty as ever, Hybrid?" the agent asked.

"Only for HYDRA blood agent," I replied smoothly.

I transformed again.

"You won't get out of here alive," I threatened, dropping my head low and beginning to advance on him.

"HYBRID!" a voice shouted, as more webs were shot on me.

I yelped, my muzzle stuck, my paws stuck to the ground. I looked up. Someone in a red and blue outfit used webs to lower himself to the ground. He went over to the HYDRA agent.

"Sir, are you alright?" the person asked, and I realised it was a young boy.

"Yes, thankyou. This creature just attacked me for no reason," the agent replied, slipping his hand into his pocket to hide the glow of the rock.

"It's alright, she can't hurt you now," the boy replied.

The agent walked off, grinning at me evilly. I screamed and tugged desperately. No! No, no! He was going to get away with the rock! The boy carefully approached me.

"Why would you do that?" he asked.

I wrenched my jaw free of the web, and he looked surprised I could do that.

"He works for HYDRA!" I snarled.

I was about to say, "So do you," but I noticed that he was Spider-man. So instead, I said, "I didn't realise Spider-man helped HYDRA."

Spider-man blinked with confusion.

"I- that was HYDRA?" he asked.

"Yes!"

"And- you aren't with them?"

"Does it look like I was trying to help him?"

I used my teeth to tear my paws free.

"Y-yeah sorry about that," Spiderman apologised.

"You should be. Now HYDRA know I'm onto them. And they're probably after you too," I replied, transforming back into human form.

"Why? I didn't attack the guy."

"They eliminate anyone who could suspect them in the future. Oh, and should I add, they hate the Avengers. Only slightly y'know, they only trained us Hybrids to kill you all."

Sorry that this chapter was very choppy and doesn't really flow much. Just had a lil bit of a writers block after a couple of days not being here 😂. I'll try make the future chapters better than this, I just need to get a storyline that runs more smoothly. I wasn't going to have the whole run-in with Spiderman yet, I was going to do a call with Gamora, but it didn't make any sense so I scrapped that idea.

Have a nice day/night!

Who do you think should've died in Endgame, Clint or Natasha?
