"You ready?" Kat asked me, as she put on her suit.
"Yeah," I replied without much tone.
It didn't matter whether I was ready. I had to be ready no matter whether I wanted to be or not.
"I would say something like, 'if you're not ready, don't do this' but I know this doesn't work like that," Kat told me with a laugh.
"Thanks," I thanked her with a smile.
After a few moments of us both preparing our gear, I asked, "Do you think the other Hybrids will come?"
Kat nodded decisively.
"They will. You're their future leader."
I nodded slowly, hoping she was right. If you don't die you'll be their Alpha.
"What about Peter?" Kat asked.
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"He's a full human. The traditions keep to having two Hybrids as leaders," Kat replied.
I stopped what I was doing suddenly. She's right Y/n. Peter isn't a Hybrid. You only met him a few weeks ago.
"Maybe things can change," I suggested. "There's barely any of us left in the world now. It'd be hard to find a Hybrid I love half as much as Pete."
Kat nodded, but I could tell she was still unsure.
"As long as he treats you good," she said.
"He does," I replied with a smile.
The door opened just after I'd said this.
"Are you two ready?" Wanda asked, poking her head around the door.
"Yeah," I replied.
Wanda came into the room and came over to me. She took my right hand and flipped it over so my palm was facing upwards. She traced her finger over it in a circle before lightly tracing it up my arm.
"Are you alright?" I asked her, noticing sadness deep in her eyes.
Wanda took a moment before she replied, "We're fighting HYDRA without Pietro..."
I felt my heart tug for her. I knew what it was like to lose people I loved.
"Nobody will forget him," I assured her. "We'll make sure of that."

"Nobody will forget him," Y/n assured me. "We'll make sure of that."
She smiled at me, her blue eyes glowing dimly.
"We'll fight for him. Give HYDRA a few extra kicks in the ass from him," Y/n continued with a small laugh.
I smiled as I felt a few tears fall from my eyes. I wiped them away quickly. I wasn't supposed to be the one crying here. It was Y/n's whole life that was torn apart by HYDRA. I had some normality. Her whole life since she escaped HYDRA had been devoted to destroying the organisation.
"Don't cry," she whispered, hugging me.
"I'm not," I lied. "You can cry if you need to."
I knew she wasn't going to, but I needed to say something that didn't sound selfish.
"Are you two going to stand there all day?" I heard Kat's voice ask from not far off.
I turned and saw her standing and ready. Her claws were already unsheathed. I looked down at Y/n's hands. She unsheathed her claws too.
"Nope," she replied.
With a grin, Y/n suggested, "Let's go ruin someone's day."
I smiled and followed Y/n and Kat out of the room. The rest of the team were waiting in the quinjet. Tony, Bruce, Steve, Clint, Natasha, Sam, Rhodey, Peter, Vision and Bucky. Nick Fury and Maria Hill were coordinating the mission from the control room. Natasha came over to us and passed us all an earpiece.
"Put these in. We can communicate via them," she told us.
I put mine in without any hesitation, but Kat and Y/n just looked at them with confusion.
"They won't kill you," Natasha told them both.
"Yeah but we'll be transforming into wolves. Our entire bodies change," Y/n told us.
I honestly didn't understand why that meant she couldn't wear an earpiece. Natasha cast me a questioning glance, and I knew she didn't understand either.
"As long as you Hybrids still know what's going on," Natasha replied with a shrug.
Y/n and Kat the assassin the earpieces back.
"Come on then, we've got to go beat HYDRA's ass on time," Nat said, smirking.
I saw Y/n smirk back, following her towards the quinjet. Kat came over to me.
"I thought she was the one who tried to kill Y/n?" Kat asked as we watched the two go over to the rest of the team.
"She was," I replied.
"Fuck. Y/n's really changed if she trusts her," Kat murmured.
"Natasha never intended to hurt Y/n," I replied.
"Maybe..."
I was starting to be able to hear Kat's thoughts. They were becoming loud. They were crowded, fast paced and anxious. She was filled with worry. Thank god Ben's staying here. I don't want anyone to die or get hurt. I don't want anything bad to happen.
"Kat?" I asked her.
"Hm?"
"You get to live a normal life after everything's over," I told her. "No more HYDRA threats. No more fearing for your life. Or anyone else's."
"Hope so," Kat replied, anxiety lacing her voice.
