Chapter 30

Peter

I glanced over at the super-Hybrid to see who was fighting it now. Steve and Bucky were strategically attacking it, along with another Hybrid that had run over. Two limp bodies in the snow caught my eye. I felt my heart quicken its beating as I recognised the black fur. Please Y/n! Please tell me that's not you! As I ran over, feet and legs freezing from the thick snow, I knew that even if it wasn't Y/n who was there, I'd still be upset if they died. Bucky, Steve and the other Hybrid moved the battle away from me as I reached the two Hybrids. My heart leapt as I saw both of them bleeding. Y/n was bleeding a lot less than the ivory-coloured Hybrid. I went over to the other Hybrid first and lifted their head.

"Oh thank god," I murmured, feeling a very weak pulse.

The Hybrid blinked open their head, before turning back into a human. Now it was a boy - not much younger than me - laid in my arms.

"Hey, hey, can you hold on?" I asked, pressing my hand onto the wound on his neck that was gushing blood.

"N-no..." the boy replied. "Tell... tell Y/n I wish... I wish her the best..."

His head fell back, eyes sightless and staring. I felt horror run through me.

"Wake up, hey, wake up!" I shook him desperately.

"Peter!" a yell made me look up.

Tony was flying over in his suit.

"He's dead Pete..." Tony told me.

I sighed sadly and closed his eyes.

"W-what do I do?" I asked.

"Go to Y/n, I'll take his body," Tony replied.

I nodded and went over to Y/n. She was bleeding less, but the snow around her was still stained crimson. I saw her eyes opening and closing slowly. I knelt beside her, holding her furry head in my lap.

"Pete..." she murmured. "Go fight."

"Not until I know you'll be alright," I replied stubbornly.

Usually, I'd do what she told me. She often proved to be right. But this time, I refused to listen to her.

"I don't care if we're in a battle right now. I don't care if people are fighting. I don't care. All that matters right now, this moment, is you."

"No, Peter. Go fight. Or Kai's death will be in vain," she ordered, apparently already knowing he died. "I'll be fine."

I ignored her orders and put my ear to my comm.

"Anybody able to do a medical?" I asked, desperately hoping someone could.

After a few seconds, Wanda's reply came through the earpiece.

"I can heal her," she replied, instantly teleporting over.

Wanda ran over to us and took Y/n from me.

"Go back to the others, keep to the plan as best as possible. Most of the soldiers are dead," she told me.

I - after hesitating - nodded. Standing up, I began to run away. I stopped once to look back. Wanda had her hand over Y/n's wounds and I saw magic swirl around it.

I felt a sudden regeneration run through me as I opened my eyes and saw Wanda healing me. I sat up quickly, shaking my head. I flicked my tail and saw the cut on it had been healed.

"Thanks," I thanked her, getting to my paws.

"No problem," I smiled at her, before standing up.

"Do you need any help?" Wanda asked me.

As she asked this, I saw the remaining Hybrids gathering around me. I shook my head, proud of what all the Hybrids have done already.

"No, I think we'll be okay," I replied.

Wanda nodded and teleported away. I turned to the Hybrids.

"What are our orders, Alpha Roseblood?" Sylvia asked.

I looked around them all. There were at least 14 of us.

"My original plan of saving the super-Hybrid isn't going to work," I began. "As a pack, we must kill it. We need to weaken it by teasing it."

I looked over at Aliana.

"Aliana, take a group of 7 and attack it from behind and the sides. The rest of us will nip it from the front. Quick attacks everyone. No staying in it's attack range. Quickly in, nip it, back out. Another Hybrid in, nip it then back out. We'll do this until it tires too much. When it's weak, we go in for the kill. Whichever Hybrid is closer snaps its neck. By that point, one of the Avengers might've already put a bullet through it's brain."

Everyone was nodding, flexing their claws in the snow.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Always ready to fight beside you Alpha Roseblood," Kat replied.

"Ready!" another agreed.

With an echoing howl, Aliana took her group and I led mine towards the Hybrid.

"Steve, Bucky, we've got it!" I howled over at them.

They looked at me, before nodding and running off to finish off the remaining agents and soldiers. We all surrounded it. It's bloodthirsty eyes searched us all, saliva dripping from it's jaws.

"Ready whenever you are," Kat murmured to me.

I lowered my head and bared my teeth. I made eye contact with Aliana and flicked my tail, as the signal.
