Y/n

I ran over to Kat's unconcious body and shook her, trying to wake her.

"Kat!" I pleaded. "Please, wake up! Kat!"

I felt Natasha trying to pull me away. I unsheathed my claws and spun around, holding my hand towards her. She backed off of me. I need to be there for Kat. Natasha helped me put Kat in a seat whilst Fury checked her wounds.

"I'm not a doctor, Bruce is gonna have to close them properly," Fury said eventually, after cleaning up Kat's wounds as best he could.

I raked my fingers through my shoulder length hair and paced anxiously.

"How did HYDRA know where they were?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"We honestly have no idea," Fury replied.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Natasha checking Kat's still unconcious body. After a few moments, her finger ran over a spot on her arm. She pressed down slightly and looked up at us.

"HYDRA's implanted a tracker," she told us. "I have no clue how long they've been tracking her, the skin is healed."

I let out a sigh of irritation. This was the last thing we needed. What did HYDRA know about Kat? About Ben? About... all of us?

"I'll set off, we should really get back to base as soon as we can," Natasha offered.

Fury nodded and Natasha climbed into the pilot seat. Kat started to stir. I went over to her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"Ben..." she murmured.

"He's fine, he's here," I told her, keeping my hand on her shoulder. "But... HYDRA have been tracking you."

"What?" Kat turned to me, her eyes full of fear.

"We don't know how long, but you have a tracker in your arm," I said, nodding to her scar.

"So that's what that's from..." she murmured, running her index finger over it.

I hugged her tightly.

"Can you take it out?" Kat asked me.

I pulled out of the hug and looked at Fury, who was watching both of us.

"Dr Banner will be able to remove it, and hopefully destroy it," he replied.

Kat nodded, then nudged my arm off of her. She went over to Ben, who was still sleeping in the seat and stroked his head gently.

Peter

I paced anxiously until the quinjet landed. I saw it landing and I immediately ran downstairs, skipping stairs as I went. Was Y/n alright? What if she got hurt? What if HYDRA kidnapped her? What if, what if, what if? Once I ran outside, the cargo door of the quinjet opened and I saw Fury step out. Then Natasha, supporting a young boy on her hip. My eyes scanned for Y/n. Please Y/n... I saw her step out of the quinjet, helping an injured girl beside her.

"Y/n!" I ran over to her.

"Peter!" Y/n cried as I got to her.

I went to hug her, but Y/n shook her head.

"Let me help Kat first," she said, looking at me with a glint in her eyes.

I knew that look. She'd used it when we still lived in her apartment. It meant 'Duties first, you later. Have some patience, I'm always yours.' I watched Y/n help her friend, following a few steps behind. Fury was beside Natasha, talking quietly. Only then did I notice that the boy was asleep - head hung over Nat's shoulder. The red-head assassin held the boy carefully; as if he was her own child. When we got inside, everyone headed to Bruce's lab.

"Dr Banner, we need medical and..." Fury finished his sentence off quietly.

Bruce nodded and gestured for the girl to sit down on a bed. She began to protest, saying she was alright, but Y/n murmured hushed words into her ear. I saw the girl's face drain of all colour, before she nodded. The girl held out her arm for Bruce to take and he inserted a needle into the vein in her wrist. Y/n came over to me and took me out of the room, where she closed the door.

"Are you okay?" I asked, wanting nothing more than to have her in my arms.

"Yeah," Y/n nodded, but she seemed oddly quiet.

I didn't press further, just wrapped my arms around her.

"Why did you leave?" I asked, head on her shoulder.

Y/n had her arms around me and tightened her grip, forcing my body to be pressed against hers. I felt her body heat radiating off of her.

"I attacked Steve and Clint," Y/n replied after hesitation, her voice shaking.

"You had a flashback Y/n," I tried to assure her.

"They hate me, I should never have stayed," Y/n continued. "I saw HYDRA agents and attacked them. Every instinct was telling me to kill them."

"But you didn't," I replied.

"Because you all stopped me!" the pitch in Y/n's voice reached a higher octave. "I'm too dangerous to be here! I shouldn't be here! Not me, Kat or Ben. HYDRA has nothing to do with the Avengers, I don't even know why you got involved!"

Tears splashed from Y/n's eyes as she clenched her fists. I gently pinned her against the wall and tucked loose strands of hair behind her ear.

"Don't do that to yourself," I told her as her hands unclenched.

I saw that her palms were bleeding and her claws were unsheathed. The tips of her claws had a red stain on them.

"Oh Y/n..." I murmured.

She looked down and blinked, startled.

"I didn't realise they'd..." she trailed off.

My heart broke for her as I took her inside Bruce's lab to clean the small wounds. She was struggling so much right now. God knows what had happened when Y/n left, but it had clearly affected her.

Please be alright Y/n. For our sake.
