Peter

The rest of the week had gone smoothly. Well, as smoothly as it can be living with Y/n. She went back to working on the HYDRA case, tracking down the agents. She'd managed to find out where one in particular was. She left me in the apartment overnight one night, then came back the next morning. I asked her what happened, but she didn't tell me anything, although I could tell she was pleased with herself.

Anyways, today I had to meet with Natasha again.

Mr Stark
Peter!

You
Yeah im here

NatashaRomanoff
Meet me at the same place as last time, u able to do that?

You
Yeah, ill just take out the trash

NatashaRomanoff
I'll be there in about 10 minutes

You
Okay thanks

I got up off the sofa, glancing at Y/n who was sat at her desk again, bent over her papers.

Y/n

I turned as Peter unlocked the door.

"You alright?" I asked.

"Yeah, just taking out the trash."

I nodded slowly, then saw the bag in his hand. It wasn't even that full. Shrugging, I turned back to what I was doing, letting him leave. I'd managed to find the HYDRA agent I'd been relentlessly tracking. The night I went out, I didn't tell Peter what happened. I'd successfully gotten information from the agent - no claws needed. HYDRA had the rock. They had a base in northern Russia, just inside the Arctic Circle, where the agents were using the rock to create an ultimate Hybrid. I clenched my fists. HYDRA were experimenting again. The agent I'd cornered didn't tell me that, but I knew that they were. When I'd gotten the information, I just tied the agent up in an abandoned warehouse. I didn't have blood on my claws. Not this time.

Peter

I went around the back to find Natasha. When I'd put the trash in the bin, I looked behind the bins where Natasha had been last time.

"You know I don't hide in the same spot twice," a voice said behind me.

I spun around quickly, to see Natasha with a smirk on her face. She pulled me behind the bins, then pulled something out of her pocket. It was a needle.

"Wh-what's that for?" I asked, stuttering.

"We need to bring Y/n in. It'll just sedate her," Natasha replied calmly.

I can't do that to her! I can't! She's only just beginning to truly trust me! I can't betray her like that! I looked up at Natasha with frustration.

"Can't I just persuade her to go to the compound?" I asked, desperately hoping there was another way.

"Do you think she'll fall for it?" Natasha asked rhetorically. "Hybrids are generally quite wary, you know that."

I shrugged.

"I know, but she's beginning to trust me. I don't want to betray her. She told me not to tell anyone, I broke her trust just by telling you!" I began to get stressed.

Natasha looked down as regret flashed in her eyes briefly.

"You wouldn't be betraying her Peter. You'd be helping her. She can't take down HYDRA alone," Nat said. "Tony told me she had a panic attack the other day. She's been through some crap in HYDRA and we'd be able to help her."

I still shook my head, turning away.

"Peter, please," Natasha pleaded.

I turned suddenly. Natasha never asked twice.

"I know what it's like to be haunted by your past. Clint saved me, took me to S.H.I.E.L.D. You can save Y/n, bring her to the Avengers."

I bit my lip. Natasha was right. This situation was almost identical to her's - except Y/n isn't being controlled by anyone. I hesitantly took the needle and put it in my pocket.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

Y/n

I turned and saw Peter coming back.

"You took your time," I pointed out.

"I was just... I went for a small walk," Peter stuttered.

I narrowed my eyes as I watched him walk over to the sofa and sit down, turning the TV on. This seemed like a lie. Y/n, he's stuck around this long, he won't have told anyone. If he'd told the Avengers, they'd have swooped to the rescue quicker than a mouse's heartbeat! I got up from the desk and went over to the sofa.

"You alright?" I asked, noticing he was pale.

"Y-yeah, just tired," he replied as I sat down on the sofa next to him.

Peter stood up and went into the bedroom. I sighed. I knew something was bothering him. A moment later, he came back with a hoodie. Sitting back down, he put the hoodie on my lap. I looked at him, confused.

"You look cold," Peter said, looking at my arms.

In and amongst the scars, I was shivering. He smiled at me as I put the hoodie on. I shuffled a little closer to him, putting my legs up on the sofa. Peter - without hesitation - put his arm around me and held me. A wave of calm safety overcame me. I moved up right next to him and put my head on his chest. He kept his arm around me as he scrolled through Netflix.

"How come you even have Netflix?" he asked. "I thought you had no money."

I smiled a little bit.

"My friend lent me some money not long ago. I still need the job though," I replied, referring to Aliana.

Me and the Hybrids had kept in touch since we escaped from HYDRA. A couple of them had suddenly cut contact. I didn't know whether they were dead, captured, or just didn't want any contact. I sighed quietly.

"What's wrong?" Peter asked softly.

"It's all so complicated..." I murmured.

He tightened his grip on me slightly. I felt safe in Peter's arms. Tell him Y/n. Tell him you like him. I ignored the thought and just focused on watching Peter scroll through Netflix.

Peter could stay forever. Maybe if I asked him, he'd want to?
