Natasha

Fury came to be for the first time since the incident with Y/n. Tony had found the location of Y/n and Fury wanted me to make sure Y/n came back. I - of course - had to agree. Fury already doubted me, so I couldn't really say no, even though I didn't really want to be the first person who finds Y/n. She's a surprisingly sweet girl underneath all the pain, burden and cold exterior, but she'd always be wary around me. I went to Bruce's lab before I left for the mission and placed my gun on the table. He unloaded it of regular bullets, before going over to a cabinet where he took out a tray of six tranquilisers. I watched as the scientist carefully loaded them in, then he handed the gun back to me.

"Only use them if you absolutely have to," Bruce warned me.

I nodded, slipping the gun back in my thigh holster. I was not having a repeat of last time. I'd avoid using it unless I really had to. Hopefully, by some miracle, Y/n would be convinced to return... even if I had to manipulate her a little bit.

I was worried about Fury sending Natasha. I should be the one to go find her! Not the same woman who threatened to kill her! I thought to myself angrily. I had to push these thoughts away forcefully. We all knew what had actually happened that day, and nobody could really accuse Nat of anything.

"Miss Romanoff!" I called, running down the hallway as she was leaving.

She turned and I caught up.

"Be careful with her, won't you?" I asked anxiously.

Natasha let a small smile on her lips.

"Peter, I wouldn't let her get hurt. You'd kill me if I did so."

"Mhm?" I asked.

Natasha smiled again, promising, "She'll come back safe, I promise you Peter."

I couldn't help hugging her, I was so grateful. Natasha seemed taken aback at first, then she relaxed and patted my shoulder. Drawing back after a second, she said, "See you later."

"Bye," I replied, watching her leave.

I went back to my room and watched the quinjet leave. All I could do now was hope. Hope that she was really going to be okay. Please Y/n... don't do anything stupid out there. I silently begged these words to myself.

Y/n

I sat in Kat's living room as we went over some plans. Ben was playing upstairs. I looked up at Kat's face. She had dark bags under her eyes.

"Can't Aliana or Sylvia look after Ben for a while?" I asked.

Kat looked back up, her brown eyes looking straight into my blue ones.

"I'm fine, he needs to be looked after," Kat said, shaking her head.

"You aren't well," I told her, moving the papers away from her reach. "Kat, look at me."

Her gaze had gone to the papers, but she snapped it back to me when I ordered her. Realising how harsh my tone must've sounded, I apologised.

"No, no, don't worry," Kat assured. "I guess looking after a child takes it's toll..."

"I currently can't look after Ben, but I'm sure one of the others are free enough to help out. Like I said, Aliana and Sylvia are in the US currently."

Kat looked thoughtful.

"Well-" she hesitated. "What about the prophecy?"

Shit. Of course. I was supposed to be gathering all the Hybrids. And we were reaching towards the final answers. Ben would be okay on his own wouldn't he? I could ask Peter... What? No! Don't think about him! I shook my head roughly.

"You okay?" Kat asked with concern.

"Y-yeah," I replied, but she continued to look at me with narrowed eyes.

"Who are you thinking about?" she asked.

I mentally sighed. Of course. Kat was exceptional at reading facial expressions, body language, etc. She was as good as a lie detector.

"Nobody," I lied.

"Come on Y/n, you know I'm good!" Kat scoffed.

"Fine, fine..." I sighed. "I was thinking about... The Avengers."

I muttered 'The Avengers'.

"Thinking about who?" Kat asked.

"The Avengers."

"What? I know you're working with-"

"Was, working with them,"I interrupted.

"Right. Was working with them. But can you trust them to look after Ben? I mean, they might not want to test on you or anything because you can protect yourself. But Ben?"

Kat was right to voice her concerns. The world was full of lies, betrayal, and misleading people.

"They wouldn't. I know that if I asked Peter, he'd look after Ben with his life," I assured her.

"How do you know?"

"He..."

I can't tell her I'm in love with a human guy! I was the heir to my father's rule! A human couldn't be an Alpha's boyfriend!

"I- He's-" I sighed, confessing, "He's my boyfriend. Unofficially."

Kat laughed at me.

"A boyfriend? Wow, I never thought you'd fall for someone, let alone an Avenger," she said. "But, good for you girl."

I smiled a little.

"If you're sure you can trust him," Kat said.

I nodded.

"I'll protect Hybrids at any cost. Even over the prophecy," I said.

"Do you remember the prophecy?" Kat asked.

"Of course, you?"

Kat smiled and we said together, "When blooded moonlight is cast, one shall fall, one shall prevail. Each must follow their own path, until solidarity calls. Only as one, shall the world finally be free."

We both remembered it, word for word. Suddenly, I heard a shriek from upstairs. Me and Kat looked at each other.

"Ben!" Kat screamed, leaping up and running upstairs, me behind her.

Kat flung open the door of Ben's room, and I stood beside her as we saw the scene in front of us. A harsh voice spoke, the words laced with dripping menace.

"Pledge your undying loyalty or he dies."
