When Y/n confided in me, I felt my heart drop. I felt my shirt become wet around my shoulder, and I looked down. Her eyes had gone red, she was silently crying into my shoulder. I couldn't imagine what this girl had been through all before the age of 12. She was clearly traumatised from HYDRA. I knew that I had to take her to the Avengers, and that I was supposed to report back the information I found out. But I was scared for her. Scared of 1. What they or the government would do, and 2. How she'd react.

"I'm sorry..." she apologised.

"What for?" I asked.

Y/n was shaking in my arms. I lifted her chin and I started when I saw her eyes. They were glowing blue, but they were glazed over, and she seemed to be staring into space. That's when it hit me. She must be having a flashback. I - panicking internally - made sure she wasn't going to fall off of her seat, before keeping hold of her arms to steady her. She was muttering things so quickly I couldn't make out what it was. All I heard was, "I didn't, I didn't... I didn't know, I tried I tried. He's dead! He's dead!"

She yelled the last words. I didn't know what to do, so I called Tony.

"Peter, you good?" he asked.

"Y/n told me what happened to her, she's having a flashback at work and I think she's having a panic attack!" I blurted quickly.

"Is there anyone else in the workplace?" Tony asked.

"No, it's quiet in the shop. She's on her shift right now. It's just us."

"Right, try get her out of the flashback, then get her to breathe. Make sure she doesn't feel like you're going to hurt her. I know we need to bring her in, but she must've been through something that made this happen."

"O-okay," I stammered.

"Good luck Pete," Tony said, before hanging up.

I put my phone on the counter before grabbing Y/n by her arms. I shook her.

"Y/n, wake up! Y/n!"

Y/n

I looked up. The flashback ended. I looked into Peter's eyes. He was panicking as I struggled to breathe.

"Y/n, breathe slowly!" he urged.

I tried to do so, feeling myself sweating badly. Thankfully, Peter kept soothingly talking to me, so my breathing slowed down soon enough.

Peter

I sighed with relief when I saw her breathing slow down to a normal pace. Her eyes stopped glowing and she stared at me, still trembling slightly.

"You need to go home," I told her.

"N-no I need this job."

"Tell Mr Vishi you were unwell, he won't mind."

Y/n nodded reluctantly. She got up went round the back to get her things, and I turned off the film and computer. When she re-emerged, I asked, "Where does this go?"

Y/n jerked her head to tell me it went around the back. I nodded and took it around, placing it in a cupboard. It was really early for y/n to be finishing her shift, and I knew she needed the money from the job, but she wasn't well. I helped her close up the shop, and I left a note on the side for Mr Vishi in the morning. To Mr Vishi, I took y/n home last night because she had a panic attack and wasn't feeling well. She had to end her shift early, but please don't be mad with her for it. Y/n's friend, Peter Parker

Y/n

Peter took me home. At first, I barely registered I was back at home until Peter sat me on the bed.

"Oh uh- thanks," I stuttered.

He smiled at me. I noticed something in his eyes. An emotion that he quickly disguised. What was it? I turned away as I again felt my cheeks start to blush. I've just had a freaking panic attack! Now isn't the time to be getting feelings for him! I got up and put my bag away, before getting out my phone and headphones. I quickly got changed into some clean clothes before going into the living room. I curled up on the sofa and put music on through my headphones. It drowned everything out - all the flashback, negative emotion, the sound of the road outside. I let myself relax, something I hadn't done in a while, and eventually, I fell asleep.

Peter

I saw Y/n on the sofa as I made myself a drink.

"Hey y/n, you want anything?" I called.

No response. I went over to her, and saw her curled on the sofa with her eyes shut. The panic from earlier somewhat blocked out my rational thought. Shit is she dead?

"Crap, oh wait, nevermind," I sighed with relief when I saw her chest rising and falling slowly.

I gently nudged her. She didn't wake up. I carefully took off her headphones and put them and her phone to the side. I slipped one arm under her legs and the other under her arms. Picking her up, I carefully carried y/n to the bedroom, putting her in bed. I watched her for a minute as she slept. Damn Peter, that's weird! But she looks so... peacful... She's so cute... fiesty but cute... I couldn't ignore it anymore.

I was falling for Y/n.

Y/n

I woke up the next morning my stomach rumbling. I sat up, realising I was in bed. I saw Peter, sleeping on his side of the bed. His arm had moved during the night and was resting on mine. I smiled softly. I don't want him to leave. I realised with a jolt that I would happily let HYDRA go for a while longer, just so I could be with Peter. I kept denying the odd feeling whenever I thought of him. It wasn't love. It wasn't love! I can't fall in love with someone who I've been forced to live with! He messed up my mission of getting the stone! I shook my head roughly, before getting out of bed. Checking the time, I saw it was 7.30. I went to the bathroom and took a shower, before getting dressed and going to the kitchen. I flicked my short hair out of the way and put a bagel in the toaster. Whilst it was cooking, I poured a mug of tea for myself, then buttered the bagel when it popped up. I heard a voice beside me, and instinctively grabbed the buttery knife and held it facing the person.

"Woah, woah, chill," Peter laughed, taking the knife from me and placing it in the sink.

Shoot, y/n you idiot!

"S-sorry," I apologised with embarrassment.

Peter laughed and took half of my bagel, taking a bite out of it.

"Hey!" I cried, trying to snatch it back.

He taunted me, then walked off. I went after him and tackled him onto the sofa. He dropped the bagel on the floor, and I pinned him down.

"Y/n!" Peter cried, laughing a bit.

I tried to punch him, also laughing, but he rolled off the sofa, pushing me on the floor. He pinned me down gently, holding my arms above my head. I eventually gave up trying to throw him off of me, and just laid on the floor giggling. Peter let go of me and helped me sit up. We made eye contact. Time stopped. Neither of us moved.

I was falling for Peter Parker.
