Third-person

Over the next two weeks, Peter returned to school, Y/n went to work like usual 5 nights a week, and life in the compound carried on as normal. Only difference - the team was busy trying to find HYDRA. Y/n hadn't actually told the team what she knew that wasn't written down, and some people were getting a little bit frustrated with her. Wanda, Natasha and Clint had taken on the duties of training Y/n. Every morning at 7.30am without fail, Wanda and Y/n trained with each other, learning how to use each other's abilities together. Within the space of a few days, it was as if Wanda and Y/n were one. Natasha did human combat training every Tuesday and Thursday, putting Y/n through a series of challenging tests. Slowly but surely, Y/n was beginning to learn how to predict the attacks of the agile woman, getting close to beating her one Thursday. Every other day except Sunday, Clint trained Y/n with projectiles and strength. Y/n would mainly learn how to dodge arrows and other projectiles and how to use her strength skillfully. It was a Wednesday, and Wanda and Y/n were in the training room, preparing to go against Steve and Clint in a duel.

Y/n

"Wanda?" I asked, unsheathing my claws and putting on some claw protectors (Tony had invented these so I didn't accidentally hurt anyone whilst friendly fighting.)

"Yeah?" Wanda replied in her soft voice, sitting down on a bench.

"You-" I hesitated and bit my lip, trying to remember. "Did you have a twin brother?"

Wanda looked at Y/n briefly, sadness flickering in her eyes, before looking down at the floor and replying in a whisper, "Yes, I did. Pietro Maximoff."

"Where is he?" I asked, naive to what was about to come next.

"He... he died..."

Y/n! Why didn't you ask something else? Regret welled in me. Shit. I bit my lip again. I wanted to comfort her - Pietro was her twin, and they'd probably been through so much together.

"Ultron killed him. He was protecting Clint and a Sokovian child from being shot. Only he wasn't quite quick enough to get himself out of the way," Wanda explained, probably reading my mind.

I sat down beside her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have asked," I murmured.

"No," Wanda looked straight at me. "No. People should know about his sacrifice."

I dipped my head respectfully. Fair enough. Pietro and Wanda escaped HYDRA together. Lucky them. So I thought. At times like this, I wished I was better at giving emotional support.

"Wanda, Y/n, you ready?" Steve asked, coming into the room in his suit.

We both nodded, standing up. I pushed the thoughts about Pietro to the back of my mind, focusing only one the session ahead of me. A few of the others came to watch behind a glass screen, Peter included. The room we were going to be duelling in was set up like an explosion - makeshift debris and rubble everywhere, fake smoke and fire. It was big enough for a fight. Clint had his bow in hand and his arrows with him. My eyes instinctively went to his quiver. He noticed where my gaze lie, and assured, "The worst they'll do is give you a bruise and a small shock."

I nodded, then we stood facing each other - me facing Steve, Wanda facing Clint.

"Ready?" Tony asked through the microphone tannoy thing.

"As ever," Steve replied, tightening his grip on his shield.

I'd never fought Steve before, but I'd seen him training with Natasha and had assessed him thoroughly. I knew what I needed to be careful of.

"3..."

I transformed into my wolf form, feeling my claws slip out of my paws. I tilted my ears forward briefly, then pinned them back.

"2..."

I had a sudden flashback. Y/n, no! Not now! But it was too late. The day I'd fought the HYDRA agent played in front of my eyes in speed. Being dragged from the second long flashback, Steve and Clint turned into the HYDRA agents. I felt my hatred and fear taking over. I was seeing HYDRA again.

"1..."

I dropped into a crouch and bared my teeth, aware of my stark blue eyes glowing menacingly. Whatever it takes, whatever it takes! HYDRA need to die! I need to save the Hybrids! I need to kill the agents, kill them all! See their crimson blood drip from my claws, leak from their throats! I wasn't aware of what was happening anymore. All I knew was my mind was playing some cruel trick on me, making me believe the two people I knew in reality were friend, were foe.

"Fight!" I heard the voice of a HYDRA agent.

Completely lost in this figment of my imagination, I lunged at the agent, teeth bared with a snarl. He dodged me with his shield, knocking me to the ground. I skidded, digging my covered claws into the ground to steady myself. The agent came at me, not very threateningly, but enough to make me attack. I leapt out of the way, then jumped, landing on his back and pushing him down. I felt something hit my stomach from behind me. I spun around, and saw the second agent with a bow and arrow aimed at me. I sunk my covered claws as best as I could into the first agent's throat, before running towards the second agent. I dodged his second arrow as it hit the ground just beside me.

"Someone get in there!" I heard someone yell.

Just as my paws leapt into the air onto the second agent, I was thrown across the room. I hit the wall and slid down, the breath knocked out of my body. I turned into my human form and quickly stood up, before seeing more agents running towards me - one male in a tin suit, a woman with batons glowing blue at the joins and a black man with an eye-patch holding a tazer. Kill them all now! Was the only thing running through my head. Now there were 6 agents advancing on me. I assessed everybody. Who was the weakest?

HYDRA must fall! Tear them apart Y/n! Avenge everyone who died to them!
