Chapter 44

Jason's POV

I flipped the last pancake when I hear a gun shot go off. I look around the room then down at the kids.

"Go to your rooms now!" I tell them while grabbing my gun. Brady picks up Adrain and Mel takes Sophia and runs to my bedroom. I run over to the front door and open to it to see Kelli laying on the ground, holding her Lower stomach.

I see a young boy standing over top of her with a gun that is aimed right for her head. I don't think twice a aim my gun at his head and shoot him. He drops died right on Kelli's chest. I run over to them and kick the son of a bitch off of my wife and lean down to her.

"Kelli baby are you ok?" I ask her. She looks up at me with pain and hurt in her eyes. She grabs onto my hands and pulls me closer.

"G-get the kids to Taylor's a-aunt then come back" she say in a low voice.

"No Kelli I'm not leaving you" I tell her kissing her head.

"Damn it Jason just go. I'll be fine " she says. I know i shouldn't leave her but I also know that she has a plan. I nod my head and give her a kiss on the lips before running inside the house. I run back to my bedroom and open the door to see all the kids on the bed holding each other.

"Come on guys follow me" I say picking up Adrain and Sophia. They all were asking me what happened and it took everything in me not to break down and cry.

I run out the back door and over to Taylor's grandmothers, it was a little distance but nothing major. Once I got there I knocked on the door as hard and as fast as I could. I almost didn't stop when the older lady open the door.

"Sorry ma'am but I need you to watch my kids for me, it's am emergency" I tell her. She nods and quickly takes the kids. Once she did I ran back over to the house and around the front to only see Kelli missing. I see a long line of blood leading into the house so I follow it.

I walk into the living room to see Kelli crawling over to the coffee table. I run over to her and she whispers to put her on the table. I do and wipe the sweat away from her face.

"Ok Jason. I need you to get the bullet out" she tells me in a weak voice. I shake my head no but she brings a hand up and stops me.

"Do it Jason, the sew me up" she speaks again. She must be crazy! I can't do that to her.

"No Kelli, can we call someone!?" I ask her. She lays her head back on the table then looks back at me.

"Jason if you don't do this then I will die" she says looking down at all the blood. I take a deep breath and nod before getting up and getting all supplies I need. I grab knifes, needle and thread, a lighter to help close the wound with, alcohol, a bunch of rags and a long pair of tweezers.

"Ok baby you ready?" I ask her. She nods and I hand her a rag to bite down on. She grabs onto the sides of the table and I take the tweezers and slowly put them in the wound. Kelli cries out in pain and bites the rag. I move the tweezers around until I find the bullet.

Once I find the bullet I grab it and quickly pull it out. Kelli screams out in pain and grips onto the table, her chest rises up and down as her breath quickens. I take the alcohol and put some on a rag and start to clean the wound. Kelli arches her back and groans in pain, a tear falls from her eye, which causes one to fall from mine as well.

"Okay baby, now I'm going to sew you up" I say. She takes a deep breath and let's it out then nods. I thread the needle and pinch her skin together. I remember how Alex showed me this, just incase I would ever have to do this. I try to do it fast so it will be over for her but I want to do it right.

After two minutes of her screaming in pain, my shaky hands working away and a lot of tears later, Kelli lays there trying to calm her breathing.

"Good job baby" she tells me. I nod and lean down to kiss her. I look around at all the blood on the ground and anger takes over me. I quickly get up and grab my gun before running out the front door and down to Taylor's house.

Without thinking I break down the door, walking right into a gang meeting, great.

"What the hell was that huh? Sending a member to kill my wife!?" I yell at Taylor who was at the head of the table. He gives he a weird look and stands up from the table.

"What are you taking about" he asks as if I was a mad man.

"Your idiot member shot my wife. She almost died!" I yell stepping closer to him.

"I didn't send him! I don't ever know why he was up there, we agreed to stay away from each other" Taylor says. A few of his members stand up and walk over to Taylor.

"Then why did he do it?" I ask him in a quiet deadly voice.

"I don't know but I'll talk to him" he says as if it's not a big deal.

"Good luck, I shot him on sight" I tell him. His eyes grow dark and he pushes my shoulders.

"You shot him dead?" he yells.

"Of course! He tried to kill my wife! Plus my kids were there too, what if he tried to kill them as well?!" I say. His breathing slows down and he walks back over to his seat.

"Let's call it even then, so we don't have any problems between us ok" he says. I look at him like he is a mad mad. There is something wrong about him. I nod and walk out the door, but I'm not letting this go, this is just the start of it.

I walk back up to my house and walk in to see all the blood cleaned up and Kelli laying on the couch. I walk over and lean down to kiss her head.

" I'm sorry this happened" I tell her. She shakes her head and gives me a small smile.

"Go get the kids, I'm going to lay down in bed" she tells me. I nod and help her to our room. Once she is in bed and I close the door I pull out my phone and call Justin.

"Hey bro. I need the gang down here now, there is a delay in the bank robbery. But we need to get rid of some jackasses first" I say I to the phone. I'm not letting them hurt Kelli and get away with it, yea I killed the person that did it but that's not enough. I don't trust Taylor and I'm going to get rid of him forever.
