New Beginnings 🚨
Athena and Lindsey were responding to a house call. A young boy had said his dad did something bad but the dad interjected and said that his son was just mad because he was grounded. Maddie had felt something was off so Athena and Lindsey decided to check it out.
Athena knocked on the door while Lindsey took in their surroundings. She noticed a camera pointing at them. Turning back to Athena she muttered, "Camera."
The door opened and once the man saw who was at his door his eyes went wide, "Oh, you got to be kidding me."
"Mr. Eric Parnell?" Athena asked.
"That's right."
"I'm Officer Scott and this is Sergeant Grant from the LAPD. We are here to follow up on a 911 call made from this address. May we come in?" Lindsey said. "Sure, of course. Please."
They walked into the house and Lindsey looked around the room, trying to see if there was anything unusual. "Can't believe they really sent someone out for this. I explained to the 911 operator that my son..." The guy went on to explain. Lindsey noticed that there was no kid in the room, "Sir, where is your son?"
"We'd like to speak with him." Athena added. "Sure, just a minute."
The man walked out of the room. Athena checked out the living room while Lindsey looked in the kitchen. There was some cleaning supplies on the counter and some dark smudges in the sink. Not necessarily anything suspicious but not something to dismiss. Before she could open the garbage the man called for her and Athena.
"Stevie, this is Sergeant Grant and Officer Scott. Do you know why they're here?" Lindsey looked at the kid and was surprised. She thought he'd be younger but he looked about 12. Definitely old enough to notice if something was wrong. "Because I called 911?" The kid asked. "Because you called 911."
"Sir, we'd like to speak with your son for a minute. Alone." Athena said. "Of course. I'll go unload the dishwasher." The man left, leaving only the two women and the kid. "Why don't we talk outside?"
"Stevie...I want you to know you're not in any trouble. We're just here to make sure that you're okay." Lindsey told him as they sat on the porch steps. "Because if you're not, if you need help, all you have to do is say so. We're here to help."
"I'm okay. I was just mad." Stevie said. "At your father? You wanna tell us why?" Athena asked. "He wants to change stuff. I liked things the way they were. But he uh..."
