There Goes The Neighborhood 🚨
"Well aren't you a gentleman." Lindsey said as Buck pulled out her chair for her. They were out having a dinner date. "I can't believe we've never been here before." She looked around at the outdoor patio. They had string lights hung all over with a big white archway. A small pond was next to them.
Buck smiled at her and her eyes scanned over his appearance. He wore a blue dress shirt with a black jacket over it and black pants to match. Over the past few months his hair had grown out and it was a lot fluffier and curlier now. God, he looked good and he knew it too.
"Are you checking me out, Scott?" He teased, his famous smirk on his face. Her eyes moved back up to meet his, "Maybe I am, maybe i'm not." Buck reached his hand out to hers, intertwining their fingers. "Well you look absolutely stunning!"
Lindsey wore a dark green dress that went down to her ankles. It was tight fitted with a slit on the right side. She wore her black heels along with her silver hoops. Her hair was curled and pulled into a half up half down style.
She blushed at his compliment. "Stunning? You really know how to flatter a woman."
The waiter brought them some wine and they both placed their orders. Lindsey went with the lasagna while Buck went with the chicken parmesan.
The night was filled with compliments and stories and lots of laughs. The two just soaking in every moment. It wasn't often that they got to have nights like this.
They finished the night off with dessert. "Thank you for a perfect evening." Buck smiled at Lindsey's words. "A perfect woman deserves a perfect night." Lindsey blushed as she dropped her head to her hands, "Stop." Buck laughed at how embarrassed she was. He grabbed her hands and pulled them away from her face. He gave her another smile, a softer smile, as he said "I love you."
With a roll of her eyes and a smile on her face she said, "I love you more."
Lindsey had quickly made her way over to Michael, Athena's ex husbands, apartment. Apparently he had gotten into some trouble and Athena asked Lindsey is she would be able to help her out.
Basically, Michael had taken up people watching. He had become suspicious of one of the men in the apartment complex across the street. He got Bobby and his boyfriend, David, involved. Michael had snuck into the man's apartment and Bobby and David couldn't get ahold of him so they called Athena.
"You took a pretty good hit to the head." David said as he helped Michael up. When they walked into the man's apartment they found Michael knocked out on the ground, the man nowhere in sight.
"That is nothing compared to what i'm gonna do to you three...amateur detectives. Where's my husband?" Athena asked David and Michael. "He's at our place with Harry." David told her.
Lindsey scrunched her nose in disgust, "Why does it smell like trash?" David wouldn't meet her eyes, a guilty look on his face. Michael just rolled his eyes. At this point Lindsey didn't want to know the answer anymore.
"Okay, is the woman okay?"
"What woman?" David asked Michael. Michael turned to look behind him. "The woman that was on the table. She was right here." Lindsey looked over at Athena who wore the same confused look as her.
"There wasn't any woman when I got here. There wasn't anybody at all. Just you, unconscious." Michael gave David a confused look, "How did you know I was here?"
"We saw you through the telescope."
"But there was a woman here. And she was not okay. She looked dead, and she asked me for my help." Michael pleaded. "They're checking all the cameras out on the street." Athena told him.
Lindsey asked, "Do you remember what she looked like?"
Michael nodded and quickly said, "Brunette, shoulder length hair, medium build. God, she looked half dead. She was so pale. I thought she was dead."
"And she was injured?" Athena asked.
"Yes! She had two blood spots on her belly. The front of her gown was just soaked." Both women nodded at his words. "Okay, give us a minute." Athena told Michael and her and Lindsey went to talk with one of the other officers.
After watching the camera footage they found the man walking out of the apartment building but he had no woman with him. Michael was quick to figure out that the woman must also live in the building, which is why she was never seen leaving the building.
"Check every apartment in this building. Our victims in here somewhere." Athena said as multiple officers flooded the building. They went door to door asking.
Lindsey banged on the door, "Hello. Anyone in there?" There was no response. She banged again and still no response. "This is it!" She called to Athena. Without waiting for the others, she took a step back and with as much strength as she could she kicked open the door.
Pulling out her gun, her and multiple officers scanned the apartment, "All clear." Athena found the woman on the couch and called in David. Lindsey walked over to them. The woman was exactly like Michael described and she was covered in blood. "Pulse is steady. My best guess is she's down about a liter and a half. I'm applying pressure dressing." David started pulling things from his medical bag. Paramedics made their way in and started to help him.
As they walked out to the ambulance, the woman on the gurney, Athena called to tell Michael that she was gonna be okay.
The following day they caught the man. A doctor from Miami who came to California and started an underground clinic.
"So Michael became a detective?" Buck asked Lindsey. She had just finished recapping everything that happened. "No...well kind of. Look he only figured it out from spying on others." Lindsey said with a laugh. "But he liked to call it people watching."
"Wow, who knew being nosy could save a life." Buck laughed as well. "Yeah, if it wasn't for him than that woman would be dead. You know, I could probably put in a good word with him at Quantico. He'd make a good detective."
"I think Athena would kill you if you did that." Buck told her. "Yeah you're right and we definitely don't want that."
