Dumb Luck
🚨

The first few days after, Buck had taken off of work so he could stay home with Lindsey. He didn't want to leave her alone just yet. Especially since she would wake multiple times crying or screaming. Each time Buck was there to hold her and calm her down.

During the day she seemed okay. Almost like she was never abducted and tortured. But Buck knew it was just an act. Whenever he'd ask she'd always say she was fine but he knew she wasn't. Not when she would wake up in the middle of the night in a panic.

Physically, she was doing okay. She still had her stitches and she struggled to walk on her left leg sometimes due to the pain, but she was pushing through it.

Buck was nervous to go back to work. He was worried to leave her alone. He had already talked to both Maddie and Lindsey's parents. They agreed to stop in and check up on her, maybe get her out of the house and take her shopping or out for lunch. Anything to keep her mind busy.

She was gonna be okay. She had people who were gonna check on her and look after her. That didn't mean Buck wasn't gonna worry.

"Hey, I'm home." Bucks voice rang through the apartment. He placed his bags on the counter, waiting to hear a response. "Lindsey?" He called but he got nothing.

He started to panic a little and he quickly ran up the stairs, "Lindsey? You up here?" He looked around but he didn't see her. "Shit." He muttered as he ran back downstairs to grab his phone. As he scrolled through to find his sister's contact, something caught his eye.

He could just make out a few strands of brown hair floating in the wind, through his window. Putting his phone in his pocket, he made his way over to the glass door and stepped out onto the balcony. He looked over to see Lindsey leaning against the rail, a mug in her hands and the wind blowing through her hair.

He let out a sigh of relief that caught her attention. She turned her head to him and gave him a small smile, "Hey, how was work?"

Buck returned the smile as he walked over to her. His arm brushed hers as he leaned on the rail next to her, "It was a long day, but it was good. How was yours?"

"Good," She said as her eyes drifted back out to the city, "Your sister stopped by with lunch. She brought Jee and we watched a movie." Bucks eyes stayed on Lindsey, "That sounds nice."
