"This is a special report from Riverside County, California. We're reminded of Jim McKays words from Munich — 'Our greatest hopes and our worst fears are seldom realized' — let's hope it's not the latter as we wait to hear the fate of the women, children, and F.B.I Agents inside the building." The reporter voices was calm as he spoke to the camera.

The explosion was sudden and deafening, a violent eruption of sound and force that seemed to tear through the very air. It started with a low, ominous rumble, quickly escalating into a roar that shook the ground beneath the reporter's feet. A massive fireball erupted from the building, engulfing it in a fiery embrace that sent black and orange smoke swirling into the sky. Flames shot high into the air, licking at the sky with a furious, orange-red glow. The shockwave rippled outward, rattling nearby structures as the building's frame buckled under the intensity of the blast.

The reporter's voice, though calm, now cracked with a mix of disbelief and urgency. "Jim, are you getting this?!" The camera man quickly adjusted the lens, zooming in on the destruction as the fireball consumed the structure, leaving only the haunting silhouette of the burning ruin. The scene was one of chaos and terror, as the once-sturdy building now seemed to disintegrate into an inferno.

3 days earlier:

Lindsey held her phone up to ear, listening to it ring. When her call was answered, the first thing she said was, "So, I hear i'm being replaced." Her tone was a mixture of fake annoyance and playfulness.

"Hey, now," Athena spoke with a small laugh. "You were the one that chose to leave me this week to work with your team."

"Touché," Lindsey laughed before asking, "so how's it going with the rookie?"

Lindsey heard a small groan before Athena replied with, "He's annoying, cocky, very talkative...you better hurry up with your case and then get back here."

"I will, I will," she said with a small smile playing on her lips. "Just hang in there till I get back."

"I'll try."

Lindsey hung up her call and then turned to look at Emily and Spencer, who were both reviewing the case as they drove. The three of them were the only ones available to go and investigate a suspicious ranch. Lindsey was excited to not only be working with her team but to be working with Emily again. She had been so busy over at Interpol that when she decided to take some time off and come back to the BAU for a little bit, Lindsey knew that she had to see her.
