Home Invasion 🚨
"We responded to a home invasion in progress. Found the home owner unconscious." Athena said as her and Lindsey led the 118 into the home. "And the invaders?" Bobby asked. Lindsey sighed, "House is clear."
"No signs of forced entry?" Buck asked and Lindsey shook her head, "Just some spilled food in the kitchen. Dispatch says that she called from upstairs. Spotted the intruder in the kitchen and ran." Athena continued, "She took one hell of a tumble. She's breathing but unresponsive."
Eddie leaned down and placed his fingers on her neck, "Pulse is elevated."
"I mean," Buck went on to say, "Something must have really scared her, right? You sure there's no one else here?" Lindsey rolled her eyes, "I'm positive, Detective Buckley. We checked the whole house."
The woman on the ground started to wake up. She immediately started to say, "We have to get out. We have to..." She went to move but something snapped and she screamed in pain. "That was her pelvis." Bobby told them and Eddie looked down at the woman, "Ma'am I need you to stay still. A pelvic injury can lead to internal hemorrhaging. I'll give you something for the pain, okay?"
Athena took a step closer to the woman, "Ma'am, you told 911 that you saw someone in the kitchen. Who did you see?" The woman let out a groan as she answered, "It wasn't a man. It was...a monster."
Out of the corner of her eye she could see Buck slowly making his way into the kitchen. With a shake of her head, she followed after him.
"I told you, we didn't find anyone." Lindsey said as she placed a hand on his shoulder. Buck jumped and almost dropped his flashlight. The scared look on his face disappeared when he turned to see her. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." She said as she tried to keep herself from laughing.
"You say you checked the whole house, but are you sure?" He asked as he pointed his light towards the ground. They could make out a trail of crumbs. Buck moved the light to the pantry door. He went to grab the handle but Lindsey stepped in front of him.
"What are you doing?" He asked her. "Do you have a gun?" She asked as she pulled her gun from her holster. Buck rolled his eyes and Lindsey smiled, "I didn't think so."
With her gun in one hand, she slowly opened the pantry door. She could Buck right behind her, his flashlight shining over her shoulder. Once the door was fully opened, Lindsey released the breath she was holding and she could feel Buck relax from behind her.
In the pantry was a raccoon. That was their invader. "This is Buckley," She heard from behind her, "I've apprehended the suspect." Lindsey turned to give him an 'are you serious?' look. He just smirked at her and turned to walk away but jumped when he saw who was behind him.
