Calum had a deep frown on his face as he focused on the screen in front of him. Laur, who was sitting beside him, had a similar expression on her face. When she overtook him for the third time, she decided to break the silence.
"Oh my god Calum, you suck ass." Laur laughed, elbowing his side.
"What'd you do that for?" Calum whined. "You made me lose another place."
"That had nothing to do with me, babe. You just suck." She replied with a chuckle, pushing him over.
"You know what, If I was your height I would not be this cocky." Cal retorted, narrowing his eyes at her.
"Oh yeah? Why not?" Laur responded in a teasing manner. Cal was silent for a moment, staring her down in order to create some suspension.
"Because," He started, casually picking up a pillow that was laying beside him, "I could easily take you down." He finished before chucking the pillow at her. Laur managed to catch it before it hit her square in the face. She gave him a smug look before replying,
"I'd like to see you try, Hood." She threw the pillow back at him with full force. Cal easily dodged the attack and before Laur could even process what was happening she was pinned to the ground, with Calum on top of her.
"Who's your daddy now, huh?" Cal joked, attempting to keep a serious expression. Laur immediately burst into laughter with Calum quickly joining her. He relaxed his body and fell half on top of her. Suddenly their playful environment was busted when the door swung open.
"What the actual fuck." They heard Michael say. His tone was sharp, Cal lifted his head to look at his bandmate, planning to make a joke until he saw the serious expression on his face.
"You good man?" He asked, lifting some of his weight off Laur. Mike scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"You know what Cal," He started, venom in his voice. "I'm actually not good. I actually really do not want to see your face right now."
Calum immediately sits up. "What the fuck have I done to you this time?" He deadpanned, all of his easy going demeanor having disappeared.
Michael narrowed his eyes, not sparing Laur a single glance. "You're gonna act like you didn't lie to me about what happened between you and Shay." He shot back. Calum's jaw tensed at the mention of her name. "It's none of your business, Mike." He said, slowly.
Mike scoffed again. "You made it my fucking business when you came crying like a kicked puppy." He spat, obviously not letting it go.
"Calm down, Michael." Laur said, finally getting involved with the argument. Mike's mouth fell open, before his expression turned sour.
"Are you seriously taking his side? Again?" He questioned. If he was honest with himself he would admit that this wasn't a surprise. The girl obviously had a soft spot for her best friend, even though he didn't always deserve it.
Laur rolled her eyes before replying, "This isn't about taking sides. This is about you blowing up over nothing."
"Over nothing?!" Mike replied, astound. "He, that asshole sitting next to you, not only broke up with Shay for no fucking reason, he also lied to us all and said that it was because of her. And you're telling me that I'm upset about nothing." Michael had started pacing the room somewhere during his speech, needing to release his energy somewhere.
"Look, I don't know what she told you or where you are drawing your conclusions from, but I think both of you have got this whole thing wrong." Calum calmly said. "There is no reason to pick sides. She and I just envisioned a different future and as much as that hurts, it's not anybody's fault."
