Lorelei's POV:

I'm woken up by a knock on the door. I roll over and climb out of bed. I open the door to find Sid, one of Nik's hybrids.

"What do you want Sid?" I ask half awake

"Klaus wants to see you."

I roll my eyes.

"If he really needed me that badly he should've showed up himself." I reply

He looks worried.

"What happened?"

A few minutes later I walk into Nik's study. He's standing by the window, a glass of bourbon in hand. He doesn't turn around even as the door shuts behind me. Sid is nowhere to be seen. Probably off to complete some disturbing task for Nik.

Not that he had much of a choice.

None of us did.

Instead we were all given life sentences...

I was the only one left who was not turned.

Nik ignored me every time I had asked why.

He had told me not to approach the subject again and of course, I did and as a result he compelled me to silence and sent me away for the night.

"You're late." Nik says

The easiest way to get the negative attention off of me would be to blame Sid but I'm not cruel.

Nik has killed people for far less.

"I'm sorry. What do you need?" I ask softly

"We're going to a meeting with the Town Council, gather some information."

I must've made a face to show how annoyed I am and he tilts his head at me.

"Do we have a problem?"

"Why not get your hybrids to go with you? They can compel people."

"My hybrids are out on more important matters so you'll be coming with me. Meet me at the car in 10 minutes. Make sure to bring water."

"Yes Master."

I turn to leave.

"And Lorelei?"

"Yes Master?"

"Unless I ask your opinion, don't give it."

Another nod.

"That's all. Leave."

I exit just as quickly as I had arrived.

The entire house is empty. Kol, Elijah, and Rebekah are all daggered, asleep in coffins, tucked away in the basement.

The night is full of finger foods and small conversation. I listen in to each conversation as best I can but it's all noise. Nothing useful.
