Lorelei's POV:
I look at the clock on the wall.
6:37 pm
Where are they?
I begin to pace back-and-forth as I stand in my bedroom, waiting, as I had been for the past 37 minutes for Tyler to arrive with this, witch of his. Nik had already announced that he would be out with Stefan at the Lockwood's dealing with the hybrids. Nik decided to leave me with a list full of chores to complete to "keep me out of trouble" while he was busy.
I knew he'd see this as a betrayal.
As selfish as it may be, I'm tired of being alone. The only time I'm ever out in town is when I am running errands for him. Other than that I am kept confined to the house or the woods in the back unless I sneak off. Even that is risky because I could get caught by one of his spies. It was worth it though every so often just to get away and feel like I have a life for a change.
There's a knock at the door.
When I open it, I see Tyler with a young woman who I recognize as Bonnie Bennett.
" I'm sorry to drag you into this. If I knew anything about magic I would've fixed it myself." I say
I notice her staring intently at the crest around my neck. M for Mikaelson.
I'd gotten a quick crash course on the history between Bennett witches in the Mikaelson family and I wonder why she decided to help but I don't ask. I motion them to come inside and take them through the house to the basement. Bonnie puts her hand up and sure enough, her hand doesn't touch the door knob.
Instead, her hand stops a few inches away, as if she had a hit an invisible wall, keeping her from opening the door. The barrier spell is still up.
I watch in awe as she closes her eyes, focusing intently and begins to chant quietly.
"Phasmatos Siprum, Emnis Abortum, Fasila Quisa Exilum San."
The door creeks open.
"I know he has them down here. He must've had the witch cloak them."
I watch as Bonnie skillfully reverses the cloaking spell. I quickly locate Rebecca's coffin and usher her over where she repeats the first spell she had done and I open the coffin.
"Wait!" Tyler says as I put my hand on the dagger
"We shouldn't be here when she wakes up." Bonnie says
" None of us will be. As soon as I pull the blade out, I'll take her out of the coffin and set her down. You re-cloak the rest of the coffins and then you guys are free to go. I'll take care of the rest of it." I reply
Bonnie looks like she wants to say more but decides against it and focuses on the task at hand. I remove Rebekah from the coffin. Tyler stands guard in the doorway, ready to take on anyone who might be walking down the stairs.
"Wait." I say as Bonnie moves towards them
"What is it?" She asks
"Is there a way to seal the coffin back up?"
"This wasn't the plan Lorelei. You're already dead. No need to drag us down with you." Tyler says looking from the doorway to me
I flip him off.
"Yeah. There's something I can try." Bonnie tells me
She pulls out a knife and walks over to Rebekah's coffin. Holding her hand, palm up, she slides down the middle, creating a deep cut. She closes her eyes and rotates her hand downward and begins to chant as the blood drops onto the coffin.
"Phasmatos veras nos ex malom. Terra mora vantis quo incandis per vasa quo errum signos!" She repeats it twice before lowering her hands and stepping back towards us
"Now nobody can open it but me."
"We gotta go." Tyler insists
Bonnie moves over to him, takes his arm and they vampspeed away.
"Thank you Bonnie. I'm not your enemy. Just an unwilling piece in Nikklaus's plans."
Bonnie quickly re-cloaks all of the coffins.
This will at least buy me time to get Rebekah out of here and away from Nik.
Tyler and I look out the windows, making sure Nik is nowhere to be seen before we all take off in our own directions.
I take one of the cars from the driveway and bring Rebekah to a hotel. I'm careful to make sure I'm not followed, glancing every so often in the mirror. Parking the car in the farthest space in the lot, away from prying eyes, I take off the blanket I had put over her, undo her seatbelt and pull the silver dagger out.
I place the blanket back over her, unbuckle my seat belt and turn the car off. I open the door and walk to the trunk where I'd put a cooler stashed with blood bags. I grab it and head back to the front seat. Pulling out one of the blood bags, I open it and hold it under her nose. It isn't long before she starts to stir, then grabs the bag and drains it completely. I watch as her skin goes from gray to it's natural state. Her eyes flutter open and I hand her a few more. She empties these as well.
"What happened?"
"Nik. He daggered you 5 months ago. Since then he's been focused on building his hybrid army. Im sorry I know that that wasn't nearly enough blood to get you back to full strength.."
She smiles and thanks me, but then her face quickly falls when she realizes that it's just the two of us.
"What about Kol and Elijah?"
" Trust me this was difficult enough. We will wake them up, I promise."
I help get her situated in the hotel, promising that I'd arrive with clothes for her and whatever else she needed since we couldn't risk her being seen. She thought it was a big risk for me to go back to Nik's. I insist that I'll be fine but she has me drink a bottle of vervain to be safe. Then I take off back to the house.
