Klaus's POV:

Walking through the alley I let out a sigh as my phone vibrates. I pull it out of my pocket to see a text from Nat, one of my newest hybrids who is in charge of security back at the mansion.

I've checked around the house. She's there. Everything is secure.

- NAT

As a precaution, I had not ever so subtly watching over Lorelei just to make sure she didn't fly off the handle while I'm getting my new house built for the hybrids.

A notification pops up on my screen as my phone simultaneously begins to vibrate.

I let out another sigh as I read Carol Lockwood's name. I swipe to answer.

" Mrs. Lockwood, how can I help you?" I ask.

She knew us as founding members of Mystic Falls, and generous donors to many of the Town Council's activities. This was an image conducted solely through pleasant public events as well as compulsion. Unfortunately, through the errors of others, she learned of Tyler Lockwood's werewolf gene. She had learned of the super natural presence that walked around her every day. Due to marrying into a founding family, Carol learned all the tricks that came with vampirism.

It was lucky her son was vulnerable and I was able to have him shut her in until everything cleared her system. He was then ordered to compel her to stop her interfering. I'd sent out my hybrids to handle the rest. The Town Council had taken a few pesky vampires for me. Now everything has been taken care of, renovations were almost complete and the hybrids had enough skill to protect themselves.

There's a moment of silence.

" I can't find Tyler. He went out the other night and he hasn't been home since I was wondering if he was with you." Carol says

" I'll see what I can do." I say and hang up

Thinking a moment, I click on a contact for one of the vampires, I hadn't made any converted into a spy. A now forever, 20 something male name, Sam spent most of his time around town gathering information on whoever I needed. Unlike most I had for lack of a better word "recruited" he was voluntary. A broken man happy to get out of the role of a human being, and into a future others could only dream of.

" What can I help you with Klaus?" Sam asks after the first few ring

"One of my hybrids may have gotten himself into a little bit of trouble. Check around town. See if anybody has spotted Tyler Lockwood around town. If you find him, send him back to his mother." I inform him

"Yes sir."

Hours pass with no word and my annoyance begins to rise. How hard is it to find a teenage boy? Pacing back-and-forth, my phone rings. I see that it's Sam quickly accept the call.

"As you know, I hate to disappoint you, but I'm afraid I could not find Tyler. I checked the Lockwood cabin as well as the restaurants around town and the high school. No one has seen him in two days at the very least."

I withhold a groan.

This was truly the last thing I wanted to deal with. Unfortunately all of my hybrids are currently occupied. Deciding to use this opportunity to collect more information on those I had Sam specifically keeping an eye out on, we spend a few minutes as he explains.

"The Rollin witches have been taken care of as you requested. They should not be hassling anybody any time soon. Four of the vampires you had turned tried to escape, and were handled as your desired. I replaced them myself with the parameters you gave me."

At least there's some good news.

As disappointing as the night had become, it was nice to hear the witches were dead. They had killed a handful of my vampires in the past, using strong, cloaking spells to escape my reach. It had been months since they first became problem. They did their damage and fled. Now it was over.
