Damon's POV:
Flashback to this evening:
Standing up in the tub I climb out, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around myself before walking into my bedroom. Sifting through my drawers I grab black jeans, underwear and a dark blue shirt. Getting on a change of clothes, I call for Elena, assuming she is still getting her things together. The school had a football team tonight which meant my night would be spent on the bleachers watching my girlfriend cheering on the Timberwolves. I call out again when I don't hear a response. Listening closely, I don't hear anything at all.
It is deadly still.
Now concerned, I speed around the house quickly checking all the rooms. She is in none of them. There is no sign of a disturbance but all of her things are still here. She didn't say a word about going out yet as we were supposed to leave together. Pulling out my phone I click on her contact. There are no messages or missed calls. Putting my phone to my ear, I sigh when I receive the voicemail. I try again and yet again, I get her voicemail. I called Bonnie and it's the same thing. And again with Caroline. Saying, I decide to put away my pride for a moment and call Stefan. We hadn't spoken since our fight.
I make my way to the front door, swing it open and slam into an invisible barrier. I let out a shout of annoyance and anger wondering what the hell is going on. I go through each room, trying the windows and doors, but the entire house is sealed shut.
Sighing again I grab a bottle of bourbon and sit in a chair.
No witch.
No backup.
I'm screwed.
Present:
I wake hours later to a repeated banging sound.
I speed over to the front door to see a disheveled Bonnie.
"Bon! What happened? Is Elena with you?" I ask
Looking down my eyes widen when I see the shackles around both of her wrists.
"It's Klaus. He showed up at our cheer practice, and he snatched Elena. I'm sorry he made me put up barrier spells around your house and Elena's. My guess is he's just trying to keep you guys out of whatever he's planning."
" I don't really care what he's planning Bon! My plan is to get my girlfriend back, get my life back and if I'm lucky, deck him in the face without him staking me or ripping my heart out." I reply
" Well, unfortunately you're stuck in there until I figure out how to get these off." She says holding up the chains
Klaus's POV:
I stand in the alleyway, fangs deep in a woman's neck.
My phone buzzes.
Lorelei is sniffing around the basement again. What would you like me to do?
JamesSighing, I compel the human away.
Clicking on Lorelei's name I put the phone to my ear.
No answer.
I try again.
Nothing.
I click on James's contact and he picks up in the first ring.
"At least someone answered the bloody phone. Where is Lorelei?" I demand
"I don't know."
"She's sneaking around. She's not answering her phone. You better do a hell of a lot better than " you don't know." if she's not there by the time I get there heads are going to roll."
Lorelei's POV:
Making my way through the woods, I hunker down closer to the forest floor, pushing my body to move farther. Leaping from one cliff to the next, my paws scrape against the bolders. I stumble a bit but keep myself from falling down. Moving through a meadow of ferns and yellow flowers, I slow myself. I feel my bones begin to snap and shift as I return to human form. Exhausted and covered in my prey's blood, both human and animal, I lie down in the soft grass, falling asleep.
I'm startled awake when something hits me in the side.
I wake up, eyes glowing, immediately on guard.
Klaus stands above me, looking incredibly annoyed.
"It's been over several hours since I've heard even one word from you." He says angrily
I open my mouth but he holds up a hand.
"Get dressed and let's go."
Still groggy, I do as I'm told.
Following behind him, I stumble a bit, wishing that I could just go back to sleep. We don't speak for the first few minutes and I wonder what his deal is. As far as I'm concerned, I did exactly as he wanted: staying out of the way. Now he's being a paranoid control freak. Again.
"What is your problem?" I groan
He stops walking as do I.
"You left without a word."
"What is the big deal? You compelled the human Founding Families and Town Council to forget supernaturals. You have an army of vampires and hybrids.I can't leave your eyesight for five minutes without freaking the hell out!" I argue
"Lorelei within the years we have known each other, you have put your life ahead of Rebekah and myself. You've almost died countless times even just as a wolf. You cannot meddle about in everything without someone paying the consequences."
"I can never win with you!" I yell
"It isn't a competition!"
"You have everything you need now. You don't need me!"
His face falls at this.
Walking over to me, he takes my face in his hands.
"I'll always need you."
Before I can respond, he snaps my neck.
