Damon's POV:
I watch still stuck inside the house as Bonnie closes her eyes and begins yet another chant.
I smile when the chains fall to the ground.
Bonnie opens her eyes, walking up to the front door, whispering a different chant as she places both hands on the barrier.
"Let's go." She says
We take off into town.
There was no telling where they could've left Elena.
With the spell still up at the Gilbert house, that meant Jeremy and Ric were still shut in. They wouldn't be able to just put Elena back in the house. They'd need Bonnie to break the spell.
Soon we're walking through the town square walking up and down the roads. I scan every shop, every bench. I see a woman walking towards the clock tower. My heart skips but when she turns to enter the Mystic Grill, it's obvious this woman isn't Elena.
I let out a sigh and turn to walk down another alley.
"Oh my God!" Bonnie shouts
She stands beside the dumpster next to the Mystic Grill, staring at the ground. I speed over to see what she's looking at.
It's Ric.
He lies there, skin blue, eyes open staring ar nothing, a deep wound on his neck. I know immediately that he has no pulse.
A vampire fed on him.
They killed him.
"No." I say breathless
"Come on, we've got to get him out of here." Bonnie says
"We can't just carry a corpse around in the moonlight Bon!"
She sniffles, wiping her eyes.
"I'll cloak him. We'll come back for him."
"He's my best friend Bonnie! I'm not leaving him next to a dumpster like trash!"
I bend down to grab him but she holds her arm out, stopping me.
"Klaus threatened to drain Elena. We have to find her." Bonnie insists
She pulls me away.
Walking back over to Ric she crouched down, putting a hand on his arm.
"Invisique." She says
Suddenly Ric disappears.
We head off again.
The streets are bare.
I feel the anger continue to grow.
If he killed her...
Hearing footsteps and the faint sound of a voice, I turn to see a very distressed looking Elena making her way towards me.
She has bandages on both arms.
He took her blood. He has everything he needs now.
"Damon!" She croaks
I speed over to her.
I pick her up in my arms before she can collapse.
"Come on. Let's get you home."
Once Bonnie drops the spell, I carry Elena into the house and lay her on the bed. Once she's asleep, I take off into town to retrieve Ric's body. I head to a funeral home and compel a coffin for him. It's what he deserves.
Lorelei's POV:
Standing under the canopy of trees, I feel anything but calm.
The sunset breaks through the trees, casting an orange glow all around. It was stunning. Still, all I can think about is going hunting. The turkeys would be out and about and I'd been excited for it.
In fact I'm rather pissed off.
Nik, Stefan and I had been chasing leads on werewolves all day.
Three forests have been searched so far.
And nothing.
Nine hours wasted.
" Thank you so much for waking me up at the crack ass of dawn Nik for this wonderful experience." I say sarcastically
He takes one last look around before turning back to us.
"Cut the attitude. Calvin's leads have been valuable in the past."
"Not today it hasn't." I reply
"Clearly." He growls
