Lorelei's POV:

Waking up, I sit up and stretch, pulling the covers off. My feet touch the hardwood floor and I instantly pick my feet up after touching the not normally cold floor. Confused, I turn to my small window, just large enough for my head. I could see if I was tiptoed.

It's pouring down rain.

Now excited, I move to the bedroom door. Reaching out to grab the handle, I'm reminded by my ring-less finger that I was stuck in human form. I can't go hunting like this. Deciding to make the best of it and at least enjoy the storm, I twist the handle but it only moves halfway, not giving in fully.

It's locked.

What the fuck?

I walk over to the bed, looking for my phone, moving the blankets and pillows around before eventually ripping them off the bed entirely. My phone is nowhere to be found no matter where I look, even checking under the bed to see if maybe it had fallen. Nothing.

I can't get out and I can't contact anyone.

Now pissed, I begin banging on the door, assuming that Nik had placed one of the hybrids in the hall, just in case.

Taking a minute to think, I realize that it's like a game of checkers. I needed to make my move if I wanted to try and get ahead of him.

I didn't know what Nik was planning on doing to Bree or Carson but it wasn't good either way.

I stop banging, listening intently with my ear against the door, waiting for signs that someone else is around and I'm not completely alone. There's nothing. I wait a few more minutes just in case. Not even a scuffling of feet or a fucking cough.

Backing away, I begin to pace back and forth.

What the fuck is going on?

Klaus's POV:

Standing in the basement as I had been for hours, waiting for Bree to wake. Carson had continued to plead his innocence, claiming they were just going out on a date, not that they were taking off on the run. Looking in his eyes, it was clear we both knew the truth. He was hiding behind his excuse, knowing all too well that being honest might cost him his life.

Bree groans and stirs.

Tyler walks in with two vials of blood. He hands me one before walking to the other cellar that's holding Carson. I reach out through the bars of the cell, placing the vial on the ground.

"Time to eat love."

I watch as she begins to move a bit more, catching scent of her next meal. Weak from starvation, she crawls to the vial, grabbing it with her fingertips, ripping the top off as fast as she can and putting it to her lips, downing it all. She then moves to the back of the cellar once more. Tyler returns. In the beginning, he was the voice of the opposition, fighting for the vampires and wolves in town. Now he followed with whatever I wished, no matter how much he hated it. He knew that any more screw ups could cost him his own life one day.

They know our secrets. They crossed me.

Neither act deserves my mercy.

"Kill them both. Take your time with Carson. Rip Bree's heart out. Burn them in the backyard when you're done."

"Can't you just compel them to forget? We don't have to kill them."

"They knew the end result when they crossed me. Do it or I'll do it myself and add your body to the pile."

I turn around and head upstairs.

Truth be told, I didn't want to kill Bree.

She is one of the few people Lorelei has.
