Lorelei's POV:

Walking through the Town Square, I scan the streets looking for my prey.

Nik had kept me prisoner for 3 months down in that basement.

Now, I was free, sent off to begin paying my debt to him.

To turn humans into vampires.

Making my way up to a young gentleman, I put a hand on his arm to get his attention. He turns around and before he can speak I compel him to meet me at the high school gym. It was the only place large and secluded enough for me to do what I needed. I'd already compelled a dozen others within the past hour.

Other than feeding, I hadn't really spent much time learning about the new vampire side of myself.

Until I was held captive.

I learned how to focus my even more intense senses: sight, hearing. I learned to recognize every vampire or hybrid who came to drop off a vial or deliver me to Nik.

Spotting the person I'm hunting walk into the Mystic Grill, I sigh.

First task will have to wait. I'll get this done first.

Crossing the street, I slip in through the entrance a few people after him. I see him head for the bar. I watch closely as he takes a seat, even compelling himself a drink.

It's Stefan.

I walk over and take a seat next to him, he doesn't even look up.

"Stefan."

"Lorelei."

He looks annoyed by my presence.

"You're a hybrid now. Klaus finally decided to turn you?"

"Not exactly but he sent me to find you."

He scoffs, shaking his head and downing the drink.

"I don't have anything to say to him. I paid my debt. The deal was, I give him hybrids then I walk free."

"If you truly believed that then you're naive."

"What does that make you?"

I roll my eyes.

"I made my choice."

"The same one I made."

"It isn't the same. You're a vampire Stefan. There's no hierarchy. You've been free to do as you please for over a hundred years. I have to follow Nik forever."

He stares at me intently. Skeptical.

"You hate him, don't you?"

"It doesn't matter what I feel."

"Of course it does. That's the whole point of being alive, Lorelei."

I shake my head, fed up.

"Stefan, I'd like to bring you in peacefully. Don't make this harder on yourself."

We stare each other down. After a moment when he still hasn't moved, I nod to a man at the corner of the bar. Within moments he snatches a woman from one of the tables and holds a knife to her neck. On cue, the dozen or so people in the restaurant do the same, holding knives to their own throats, waiting for the command to die. Compelled by me.

"I've learned a lot about you Stefan. Especially how you have such a big heart. Now I'm going to make this easy, stand up and walk out or everyone here dies."

"I've learned about you too, Lorelei. You never hurt innocents. Klaus turned you into this. You can go. I won't say anything. You can live your life in peace."

"Do you think I'm stupid Stefan? Need I remind you of Katherine Pierce?"

He still does not move.

I sigh, signaling to the man at the bar. Seeing the exchange, Stefan yells out, making a last minute attempt to save the stranger's life. I speed over, jumping from a table onto Stefan. We collapse to the floor. We watch as the man slides the knife across the woman's throat. Dark blood begins to gush from the wound. She falls, gurgling as she takes her last breath. Not wasting a moment, I pull out a stake I'd hidden in my waistband, I stab him in the middle of his back. Stefan yells out, attempting to grab it and yank it out but it's out of reach. I climb off of him and stand, just as the man slits his own throat.

"These people are innocent, Lorelei. They didn't do anything to you!"

"These deaths and whatever bodies follow are on your hands. I was willing to do this peacefully."

"You have the power to choose Lorelei. You can choose not to do this."

"Careful Stefan. I can just as easily kill you and tell Nik I couldn't find you."

He lets out a laugh, wincing.

"He'd compel it out of you."

"Oh Stefan. You may have bonded in Chicago in 1922 and during the creations of his hybrids but I have no issue ripping your heart out and leaving it on Elena's doorstep. In fact maybe I'll kill her too."

"If you ever lay a hand on her-" He begins as he attempts to get up

I grab ahold of the stake and twist, causing him to yell out again. The stake is mere inches from his heart.

"He may not hurt her due to your arrangement but I promise, I have no such issue."

Before he can make a move, I snap his neck, pulling the stake out before I gesture to two of the men to come over. They drop their knives. They pick up Stefan, shoving him into the trunk of the car while I walk over the others. They had all been compelled to do whatever I said. I compelled one man to head to the Sheriff and confess to murdering the others. Everyone else was compelled to go home and forget everything that happened. Then I hop in the car and take off back to the Mikaelson mansion.
