Chapter 7 • Pity (FFAF)

-LIA's POV-
Dream called George and Sapnap.

Me, Y/N's father and the Dream Team were sitting in those waiting chairs for what felt like a million years. The entire time, I had to wonder if my best friend was even alive. Throughout the time seated in this uncomfortable chair, I was blaming myself in my head for what happened.

I never should've gotten involved with Dream in the first place.

If I would've never gone to return Y/N's headphones that night, none of this would've ever happened. Her and I wouldn't have fought over a boy, and she wouldn't be fighting for her life right now.

When more of my tears fell to the ground, Dream spoke up.

CLAY:
"Do you want me to get you some food to distract from your thoughts...?" He asked quietly.

I nodded while placing my face in my palms, my elbows resting on my knees. Soon, Dream stood up and walked to the cafeteria to get me something to eat.

Meanwhile, Sapnap spoke up from the chair next to me.

NICK:
"It'll be okay, Lia." He tried reassuring, but I shook my head no, still with my head buried in my hands, "Lia could you please look at me?"

I shook my head again.

NICK:
"Why not?" He spoke softly to me.

LIA:
"I look ugly..." I muffled into my palms.

NICK:
"You look ugly? This is news to me."

I sighed while shedding more tears.

LIA:
"My makeup is ruined, this night is ruined, my friendship with Y/N is ruined..." My voice cracked, "I—It's my fault she did this...I'm a bad person—"

I bursted out crying.

Sapnap instantly wrapped his arm around my shoulder and shushed me calmly in a soft voice.

NICK:
"Shhh...you're not a bad person, Lia."

LIA:
"I'm a bad friend..."

NICK:
"You're not that either. We don't know why Y/N did this, but she'll get better, then you two can talk things out about what's been going on with her...and if you don't feel ready for that...I can ask her what's going on."

I nodded slowly while taking deep breaths, letting my hands fall from my face.

Once Sapnap met my eyes, he frowned with slight tears in his eyes then he slowly raised his hand to wipe away the tears from my cheeks.

DOCTOR:
"Y/F/N?" He walked into the room with a clipboard.

After hearing my best friend's name, I stood up quickly, along with everyone else.

DAD:
"That's my daughter. How is she?" He spoke lowly.

DOCTOR:
"Stable. We were able to stitch up her wounds and pump her stomach to get rid of those pills." He explained.

LIA:
"Is she okay?" My voice cracked as I frowned.

DOCTOR:
"Yes." He nodded, "You all can visit her now but one person at a time. She should be awake soon."

Suddenly, Dream walked up to us and met my eyes. I swallowed hard at him then glanced at Y/N's father.

DAD:
"It's okay, you can go first."

Shortly, I met Dream's gaze again.

LIA:
"Dream...can you talk to her for me...please..." I said quietly, "If there's anyone she'd listen to, it's you..."
