-Y/N's POV (London Boy)-
The ride home was dead silent.

Clay and George were in the front seats of Clay's car, meanwhile, I was in the back, shedding my tears about our friend.

I didn't expect this to happen in the new timeline. Nothing this tragic happened to one of us in the old timeline, yet for some reason, this one was worse.

Nick had millions of fans, he had a family, best friends...all of those people were going to be so heartbroken after they find out he's gone.

It didn't feel real but at the same time, it felt awfully familiar. After all, I've had friends who were killed because of the business.

I just never thought it would happen to Nick.

In the original timeline, aka the timeline Maia wrote, Clay, George, Nick and I got hurt but we always survived.

The realization soon set in that the reason why we were always okay was because Maia likes happy endings. But she's gone now.

Without the author, there may not be a happy ending this time.

That thought made my heartbeat pick up even louder in fear.

Maybe Maia was being generous to us, maybe she did protect us from all she could. Maybe everything did happen for a reason like she said.

When the 3 of us made it back to Clay's house, he parked the car then walked inside through the front door. George and I followed him.

Once everyone was inside, unfortunately it only being the 3 of us instead of the 4 of us, Clay slammed the door, and snapped.

CLAY:
"This is all your fault!!" He shouted at me at the top of his lungs, making me flinch, "My best friend is dead!! He never would've been killed if you hadn't had shown up in our lives!!"

His statement only made more tears fall down my cheeks. It hurt more because I knew he was right.

Y/N:
"I'm sorry..." I whispered with a deepened frown.

CLAY:
"Fuck you, Y/N—Fuck YOU!!" He yelled angrily with tears streaming down.

GEORGE:
"Clay..." He interrupted, making Clay's eyes widen at the fact that George used his real name, "Don't..."

CLAY:
"Don't what??" He raised his voice.

GEORGE:
"Don't go off on her..." He clenched his jaw with teary eyes.

CLAY:
"Why shouldn't I?? She killed our best friend—she killed my brother—" His voice cracked, making my eyebrows squish together in sadness.

GEORGE:
"She didn't, someone else did...and in order for us to get justice for him..." He released a shaky breath out, "we need to stick together...we can't turn on each other if we wanna get justice for him..."

Clay shook his head with a quivered lip, two seconds away from having a breakdown.

GEORGE:
"We all accepted the risk...even him..."

CLAY:
"I—I should've paid more attention in training I—" His face squished together, "I—I should've done more when we were in trouble at the restaurant...w—we never should've gone—"

George instantly came to Clay, wrapping his arms around him tightly. Clay held him back just as tightly while bursting out crying onto his best friend's shoulder.

I looked away as my lip quivered slightly. This sight made more of my tears collapse to the ground.
