Chapter 15 • Surprises (Enemies)

-Y/N's POV (Enemies)-
Today was mine and George's 1 year anniversary.

A year ago, I decided to date my best friend, and give up on my real true love, his best friend. In that year, George and I got close, closer than we've ever been.

It took a few months of getting used to my new normal, but after months of pretending to enjoy George's kisses and cuddles, I actually started to like them.

But unfortunately, nothing George did changed the love in my heart that I still had for Nick.

I was way happier with Nick than I've been with George. But, George was there to simply fill the void in my heart. It worked a little, but not all the way.

Either way, I developed a real crush on George throughout this year, yet my heart was still locked onto Nick.

Sapnap and Catherine have lasted another year together. They were still happy, and I was happy that Nick was happy. But deep down, it still hurt.

The wound hasn't left throughout these 365 days, but it has shrunk a little bit. Because in life, our wounds, our trauma, we never forget them. But everyday, we think about them less and less, so they shrink.

I've been civil with Catherine, but we weren't the best friends that everyone once knew in this new timeline. All I did was small talk with her, and she did the same back.

I could tell she missed our friendship, but I still didn't want to be friends with her. Sure, she was kind to me when I told her that I couldn't have children, but I didn't like her that much still. Especially since Sapnap still belongs to her instead of me now.

When I woke up this morning at 10am, I was woken with a surprise. George was on top of me, jumping on the bed, causing my eyes to open.

GEORGE:
"Wake up, wake up, wake up!" He yelled excitedly.

I groaned instantly while turning to my side, causing him to get off of me.

Y/N:
"You're lucky you're attractive, George Davidson, otherwise you would've gone out the window..." I mumbled into my pillow.

He laughed while rolling his eyes.

GEORGE:
"Sapnap is here with big news." He smiled, "I wanna know what it is but he wants to tell all of us at the same time so let's gooo—"

I sighed while sitting up.

Y/N:
"Alright, fine." I pushed the covers off of me then got out of bed.

Once I did, George grabbed my wrist and ran us out of the bedroom. When we made it to the living room, Dream and Sapnap were standing next to each other near the couch.

GEORGE:
"Okay she's here, tell us—" He smiled, letting go of my wrist.

Nick released a shaky breath out with a wide smile, then took a little black box out from his pocket. He opened it to reveal an oval shaped diamond engagement ring.

SAPNAP:
"I'm gonna propose to Catherine tonight." His lips curled up.

All 3 of our jaws dropped. My eyes widened as my expression fell, along with my heart. I wasn't breathing anymore. My gaze focused on the ring, all while there was a ringing going off in my ear.

DREAM:
"Woah—congrats." He laughed while hugging him, but his voice was echoing in my head.

GEORGE:
"You've only been dating for 2 years. Are you serious?" He chuckled.
