Sousuke was getting worried. Makoto hadn't been at school the last few days and had stopped texting him after he had cancelled their date last week. What happened? It was as if Makoto had just disappeared. Sousuke tried calling again, but it went straight to voicemail, Makoto's phone must've been off. Sousuke didn't like that. He didn't like it at all.
That Friday after school was over, Sousuke put on his biggest jacket to protect from the harsh sun and headed for Makoto's house. He knocked on the door and stepped back, waiting. Makoto's mom opened the door, "Oh Sousuke? Is something wrong?"
Sousuke was a little surprised, "That's what I came here to ask. Is Makoto okay?"
"You mean..." Makoto's mom looked confused, "He hasn't told you?"
"Told me what?" Sousuke couldn't hide the anxiety in his voice, what was wrong with Makoto?
Makoto's mom took a breath and looked like she was about to tell him but instead said, "No, he has to tell you. You should come inside." Makoto's mom led him into the living room and offered him a seat, "Let me get Makoto."
