"Not an Everton fan, but if those two were leading my club I'd be pissed!"
"New club = new man, well done, Greenwood!"
"So the failed footballer and the opportunist slut managing Everton are still fucking? Doesn't surprise me!"
"I had no idea Everton was love island. LOL."
"They are LIVING together?! How did that happen?! Slow down..."
That's a very small part of the shit we've had to read in social media these past days, since those stupid photos were posted.
Niall and I have barely left the house. Because of the pandemic, and because every time we've had to go outside to do any little thing, we've come across someone asking any sort of thing about our private life, which is overwhelming, to say the least.
I never thought a sports director and a management director could be such a mediatic matter. I believed the players were the famous people here, not us. But it's been proven that people always love some gossip, no matter who's involved. It's getting exhausting.
Some good news is that the premier league comes back tomorrow. Niall and I are going to Goodison Park for our match vs Norwich City. The nerves have been eating me alive the whole day.
Fortunately for us, the covid restrictions don't allow us to do press conferences yet. However, I'm pretty sure that we won't be able to avoid some questions, even if the club's fans can't attend the game either.
We've gone to take a covid test this morning, to make sure we're clean before going to the match. I suppose we'll be given the results at some point during the afternoon.
During the rest of the morning, Niall and I have been working at home. I can tell he's pretty nervous about the match as well, but hides it better than me.
"Nervous?" He asked at some point, and looked at me from the couch he was sitting on, while we were both working with our laptops.
"A bit, not gonna lie." I admitted.
"Me too, don't worry." He admitted too, letting out a little chuckle. "I hope the lads' physical condition wasn't too affected by having had to stay at home."
"You're right." I realized that was also a very valid worry to have. "They were given instructions by Zayn and the coaching team though, on exercises to do every day, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, yeah, they've been exercising, at least if we take for granted that all of them did what they were told to." Niall said.
"Let's hope that's the case." I gave him a little smile.
Both of us continued working with our laptops, at home, until the afternoon, when we were told that both our tests had come out negative, which means we don't have Covid, and, as a consequence, we're clean to attend the match tomorrow, which is great to know.
